is there evidence of a BLACK EYE??? please this is rediculous. Mayweather had a bloody nose in the Cotto fight... a jab can cause a nose to leak all night with one good stiff shot-- a black eye can come from a jab or a thumb. and it does not take repeated shots. So please.... This is bullshit. I have seen Hopkins looking weary lumped in worn in camps because he goes that hard. The MYSTERY BLACK EYE IS BULLSHIT-- where is the evidence???

Haha.

Knowing Floyd he probably put make up on just to build the fight up more lol. No one knows if he got his clock cleaned or if one of his kids threw a toy at him (my brother did that to my older brother lol). One thing is for sure we will find out if he got Cole cocked on fight night, because one thing I believe will surely happen is guerrero will hit Floyd clean at the very least once and we will see how he takes it.

like i said in a previous post...i heard bhop was dropped in sparring prior to dawson/bhop 1. i also heard dawson had been dropped by miranda prior to ward/dawson. these things cannot be over looked.

If it means anything to anybody, in HS, LeBron came to Queens and played in this tournament called IS8. He only had like 4 points and he played the entire game. He was on lock. True Story

I saw the so called black eye in an interview? Did not look like much- a black eye and getting dropped are two different things... A black eye don't mean shit.. It means you got hit. And someone said that Guerrero will hit Floyd at least once and we will see if he can take it??? WTF? Now Guerrero is Tyson??? Floyd now cannot take a shot?? LMAO some of the shit leading up to Floyd's fights are funny. we will see. Floyd sure as hell did his interview not trying to hide the " Black Eye"... In the 18 years of him boxing I am sure he had a Black eye before. Didn't Spadofora whip him in sparring??? means nothing

No offense but age can catch people at dif times in their careers. I think Floyd has an underrated chin but he hasn't been in a match without gear for a year and he was in county for a month and change not in training for a while. I think Floyd can beat guerrero maybe stop him but this is all assuming he is still somewhat in the shape he was in last year in the cotto fight.

Interesting how 13 pts and 10 assists become 4 pts 11 years later. He was checked by some dude named
Curtis Sumpter. Its in the book "Lebron James: King of the Court".

True, I agree with everything you said.....most of the people who making a big deal out of this is big fans of his. I'm reading on other sites and they putting so much stock in this rumor that he's getting beaten up in sparring, when in fact that now the story is that Broner got knocked out cold by Spence jr, whose supposedly the guy who dropped Floyd. I smell bullshit on all levels but let the couch potatoes tell it. Everybody play expert when they want to make it seem like they actually know some shit

Sparring and the actual fight are 2 different things, just like in other sports, practice and the games are 2 different things. When I ran track , it was a guy who was right there with me in practice all the time but when it came to the actual meets where it counted, he ran well but I never seen him lol.....I think most people know the difference between the 2 but some of the people putting faith in this story are grasping at straws...I'll say ti for the 3rd time it's too much being looked into it on both sides..I'd just like to see some keep it real for just a minute though but that's to much to ask

I watched a video where someone reviewed Robert's fight and ability, so I won't be shocked either. Robert is a very unorthodox fighter, not just because he's a southpaw, but because he does a lot of things out of boxing character that can be hard for any fighter to detect while facing him.

He is a dirty fighter that knows how to cover it up. He is smart and crafty in that way. He doesn't have have knock out power but he is gritty. I think Floyd will pot shot him all night and wear him down. We will see how good his conditioning is.

I don't know if anyone here knows him, but I think he has pretty good videos.

He also goes over the Zab Judah and Demarcus Corley fights with Mayweather in his other videos, which were some rough fights Floyd had with southpaws. He's a trainer himself and sometimes gives you a study of both fighters prior to a fight to weigh a liable outcome of the fight.

I don't think there's much difference, Tyson used to work all of his sparring partners to the point that many quit and would never come back. Manny Pac had an easy time with DLH after Oscar was getting beat up by a smaller Valero who blacked both of Oscar's eyes, SRL refused to fight Aaron Pryor because in sparring The Hawk repeatedly beat up on him and dropped him often.

I have to disagree knowing what I know about what happens in sparring and then seeing results of such in fights.

I agree here. But a black eye doesn't mean much you can get a black eye without being dropped, shit you can het one without even being stunned or hurt.

Paulie M had a black eye in sparring when he gave an interview about him shitting on Keith Thurman at his interview. He was sporting a clear black eye. Where is the backlash on Paulie having a black eye? You get hit in sparring, you get dunked on in practice and INT in practice, you are wrinkling out the kinks. And just because you have a great sparring session (see victor ortiz). he had great sparring but look at his actual fights. By the way if Guerrero sported a black eye I would still say the same thing. He is working hard and he is really taking chances. People need to calm it down.

I heard it in a video interview/media interview before one of SRL's fights, he (Ray) said that he would never fight AP himself and it was no secret that they sparred regularly. I have The Hawk as one of my friend's on my yahoo account and his wife (Frankie) and I chat regularly with one another, she told me that Ray and Aaron are great friends and have a mutual respect that they've always shared but Leonard never wanted a fight with him.

Here's a transcript from one of our conversations:

Hi Brian,

Thanks so much for the photos. This is Frankie Pryor, Aaron Pryor’s wife. While Aaron may have had some of the best hands in boxing, they sure aren’t worth much on a keyboard. Therefore, he never gets on the computer himself and I get to play secretary!

Nice photo of you and Tito. We just love him. What a great champion and a truly nice man. We’ve met him at the Boxing Hall of Fame a couple of times and always enjoy seeing him. By the way, one of my favorite current fighters is Miguel Cotto. I am very impressed with his skills. Brian it’s good to know that you are a BIG Aaron Pryor fan. In fact, I think that you are such a big Aaron Pryor fan that you forgot to read the photo contest instructions closely or maybe we didn’t make ourselves clear! J You can visit our website at www.hawktime.com and look at the bottom of the home page for more info. Basically what we need is Aaron ‘The Hawk’ Pryor in the photo in any way, shape or form. You can stand next to a poster of him, hold up a magazine or photo of the Hawk or just get creative. If you notice the little girl on our website closely, you will see that she is wearing a Hawk Time hat. We’re looking for something like that. You’ve got plenty of time to come up with something creative as we’re going to run the contest until the end of July.

Brian, thanks so much for your kind words. Aaron and I have been together 16 years and one of the greatest benefits of being married to a living legend is all the amazing fans I have met over the years. It’s my opinion that boxing fans just don’t realize how much the champs enjoy their fans. In the 16 years Aaron and I have been together, I have met just about every famous fighter and a lot of them are our good friends. I think that boxing fans would be very surprised to know that the fighters sit around talking about their fans sometimes! They have their favorites too just like the fans have their favorite fighters!!!!!

Take care and we look forward to seeing a new photo from you! Aaron said to tell you, “Hey Brian, what time is it?”

sadly...he'll have to hold on to that one moment because he didn't accomplish half of what jordan did in his amazing career.

i remember i was in virginia when he was in jail for inciting a riot...throwing a chair in some bowling alley or some shit. i was going to the mall with a friend and some ppl stopped us at the front door..."hey brother...we're boycotting the malls until they free allen iverson!" my boy was like..."who the hell is allen iverson?" we walked into the mall and quickly noticed we were the only ppl of color there. needless to say...it didn't stop us from strolling through in search of some hunnies. laugh.gif

Sadly AI didn't even throw the damn chair, it was on ESPN's 30 for 30 films. He was actually trying to leave the bowling alley when some white kids said something and shit just popped off. Jordan had a great career but i think AI had demons that he could never figure out nevertheless he bought the street game to the NBA which sacred the hell out of David Stern. Everyone as getting tats and had the hair in corn rolls. It was really interesting to see. The league was a lot tougher than, you could actually play difference rather than brushing against someone and it was a flagrant foul. Honestly my favorite thing about the 90s NBA was when Rodman kicked Shaq in the nuts during the playoffs. They only suspended him for a game or two and Shaq was done after that incident. Oh well.

Naw Dawg, it ain't really like that at all. laugh.gif We just see things differently, me and the Da Professor hardly ever saw eye to eye but yet we get along pretty well especially on this forum where we don't seem to have just Pac fans and not real fans of boxing. I have been to numerous sparring sessions and many places where sparring actually turned into gym wars and believe you me, that many of these sparring sessions are filled with big egos and they do get heated.

Ali used to whup upon Larry Holmes something fierce but as we can all tell Larry learned his lessons well and devastated Muhammad (though he was way past it by the time they actually fought) but it was no secret that Ali would taunt and touched up his partners with the same flavor he used in the ring.

I'm using examples here but as we can tell there's no way for us to simply say that sparring means nothing.

Aaron said to tell you, “Hey Brian, what time is it?”

what really scared david stern was the pacers/pistons brawl and thats when the nba had the dress code.

That was bullshit. If a fan attacks you and your teammate you should have a right to defend yourself. A dress code ain't got spit to do with an out of control fan. That ruined the Pacers as a team and careers as well.

Lmao, he ran into the stands! He didn't even attack the dude that threw the beer at him Haha he got the wrong dude! If it was up to me artest would be out of the NBA by now especially after the harden incident, that dude has gotten too many passes and he hasn't even been a factor on the court for years now.

Yea the dress code is corny but your a professional you shouldn't be dressing like a clown anyway, plus its a business and stern knows kids and adults are watching. These guys are role models whether they want to be or not and he probably doesn't want older people to be turned off to the NBA by having his players wear baggy jeans and tall Ts.

And trust me its a rare sight anytime I partially agree with stern lol, now that whole deal with rondos head band that shit was ridiculous.

The dress code I have no problem with now. They need to look like men and not like kids. Even though Westbrook dresses like shit but D Wade makes up for that eye sore. If Artest gets kicked out Monte Ellis needs to go with him.
Franchize
For the record, Paulie Malinaggi's face has been swollen since before he knew he was fighting Broner. If you look at his face during his telecast for the Canelo/Trout fight, it was swollen. It, in no way, changes my opinion about what will take place in that fight.

Monta? Why lol. Cousins needs to follow them out, and I'm a kings fan!

Paulie getting worked in training to? No wonder all these motherfuckers get hurt during training they spar harder than the box on fight night! Lol
