That WILL be a war !

I am going with Mares. Something about Ponce tells me not to put my money on him but I think he will surprise a few people in this fight - including me. But im going with the youth in this one.

As for Money/The Ghost...I am going with Floyd by UD. God I hope ill stay up untill 4 am - It's 8:45 pm here biggrin.gif Looooong night...! I see Floyd being cut for the first time (clash of stances => headbutts + some Guerrero's dirty tactics might result in that) and possibly down, but boxing from the outside and winning clearly - shut the fuck uping doubters in the process ! It's going to be a good one, they both looked to be in a good shape - not surprising in Floyd's case but Robert didn't seem drained as I thought he would!

Finally we are here!!!! Again I have Ponce in a late stoppage and I have Mayweather winning by a ten round stoppage!!! I am so pumped. May the best men win!
Jack 1000
I got Mares by UD over Deleon. We got Jay Nady as ref. Will low blows come into play here from Mares?

Still got Mayweather UD over Guerrero. Like I said in the preview thread, I have about a 60% outside shot of Guerrero losing points for fouling, either out of frustration or doing that because he feels that this is the best way to win. Robert Byrd is ref, and is more hands-off. However, Floyd and his people I will bet will be all over the commission at the rules meeting about Robert's dirty tactics. I love Guerrero and will be pulling for him to win, but sometime tonight he is going to relaize that he doesn't have a California ref letting him do what he wants in there. Witness Lou Moret in the Berto fight. I will bet a 60% shot tonight that Guerrero loses points for fouling and 30% that he gets DQ'd.

We have to keep in mind that Vegas is Floyd's home in terms of getting what he wants out of officials, and that Showtime six fight deal, one of the richest for any athlete ever doesn't come cheep. They aren't about to let that all go down the toilet. Judges for the big fight are Julie Lederman, Jerry Roth, and Duane Ford. Floyd's already got Roth and Ford almost assured to give him any close rounds. Julie Lederman has eyes better than her father's, but will be the lone minority in terms of impartial judging. She MAY have been assigned to pacify the Guerrero camp so Floyd doesn't get three "house" judges. Well, he's got two so in boxing, that's all that matters. Ford is known for favoring aggression even if it isn't effective on his cards so maybe Guerrero will get some compensation.

The thing is though, Floyd's just too big of a star to fail and for Vegas judges, that has to influence them.

So do you think Floyd can/will beat Robert legitimately or do you think he'll need a gift from the judges?
Dolimite
Where the hell is Cshels? I wonder if he is already passed out or is nearly at that point.

I hope these undercards are good. I am picking Rosado over Love. Ponce over Mares. Mayweather over Guerrero. Of course yawl know this. I have to get started on dinner! Guest will be here in another hour. I will see yawl after the fight! Enjoy!

Mayweather has been cut before. It wasnt bad, be he's been cut i just forgot which fight.

I'm taking Mayweather 7th round KO. But its gonna be a really good fight. Could get ugly when Guerrero tries to grab, thats when he'll get hit alot on the inside
The Original MrFactor
I think Guerrero goes to Mayweathers body hard. Robert really commits to body punching in the beginning. Unfortunately for him, while he works on the body, Mayweather will tune up his head. Guerrero will swell, while Mayweather gets worn down and has a Martinezesque scare late. I think Mayweather's conditioning rules the day as he wins a SD.

Robots? Who knows, it ain't a bad thing in my opinion, yano more boxers that box.

I had it a draw. I thought J'Leon won more rounds but Rosado had the knockdown. Other than Santos' card, I can't be mad with any of the cards both from the judges and the broadcast team.

Oh easily, but I thought he did fairly well in the step up, while I think Rosado won, I'd be happy with a draw or an SD for Love. I mean he stuck to his jab, he clearly got tired, and made a mistake of leaving that right hand down. But more ten rounders will fix that right up. He showed a nice offense and defense. Am going to bed now lol be back later
Amandla
10-9 Santa Cruz
Amandla
20-18 Santa Cruz Munoz putting on a SHOW but not making any headway should stop it in abit i think
Amandla
30-26 Santa Cruz. I like this kid, first time I seen him.
Franchize
What is this HBO? FOH with this slugfest lol Nah but seriously, I think both fighters are just hammering away but Santa Cruz doesn't seem to be phased by Munoz punches as much as Munoz is his. Santa Cruz is throwin the more compact punches and probably will take Munoz out.
Franchize
That combination came outta nowhere lol Sounded like popcorn.
Amandla
40-35 Santa Cruz...kid PULLS his punches though...telegraphs them in when he is going in for the kill.
Franchize
If you gotta ask your fighter that much if he wants to fight, stop the damn fight!
Amandla
Thought this would get stopped. Man was getting tagged non stop. What a kid! Needs to be shaped up to face the big guns though. Nice hwith his head down just coming forward and ltting his hands go.

I'm in this bitch!

Close hometown decision.

AAAH BUSINESS TIME!
Cshel86
J'Leon looked like poo-poo in a few rounds, but he kept his composure and continued to box. I didn't like how he was "letting his hands go" because he kept his head up and threw slow ass punches. I also didn't like how he ducked and backed out of exchanges with his head up and hands down...it almost costed him the fight.

I wanna go as far as saying that Rosado was robbed, but I didnt catch every moment of the fight, so I'll save that accusation til tomorrow. As for the Santa Cruz fight...well, it was a typical Santa Cruz fight.

Mares and De Leon are friends...so let's not expect too much. Glenn Johnson vs Lucian Bute looms through my head...I hope Im wrong though.

Mayweather vs Guerrero has this weird wave of uncertainty, still. I think Guerrero may be a bit too hyped for this fight. On the other hand. Floyd is waaay too calm, so that's either a slight case of doubt, or he has something up his sleeve...the same goes for Robert. Robert has been known to finish fights with swollen eyes...from fighters who dont have much hand speed.

With that in mind, those straight right hands will be a nightmare if he let's Floyd get off early and set the pace of the fight. I like Robert doubles up on his straight left hand, and he's an opportunist when his opponent is against the ropes trying to reset.

Who knows though...Im still on the fence, but giving Floyd a slight edge because of the straight right hands and movement. I think his left hand will play a big part in this fight too. Robert is no slouch, so let's not sleep on him just yet.
