This year in boxing we have seen upset after upset. It has made boxing entertaining and unpredictable. Fans are actually talking about boxing and are excited about the sport. The war between HBO and Showtime have worked in favor (surprisingly) of the fans. We have 4 more months left in the year and a lot of big fightns left, what match has the chance of being another major upset?

May vs. Canelo
Pac vs. Rios
Arreola vs. Mitchell
Broner vs. Maidana
Matthysee vs. Garcia
Khan vs. Alexander (fight his yet to be signed)
Ruslan vs. Alvarado
Molina vs. Smith
Russell Jr. vs. ????
Bradley vs. Marquez
Rodriguez vs. Cotto

if you have any others that I missed please fill it in.

My pick would be Broner losing to Maidana or Smith upsetting Molina.

IDK whose the underdog in the Arreola-Mitchell fight but I got Arreola beating Mitchell, he just doesn't have enough to be a major player at HW IMO....I'd say Garcia-Matthysse would be one. I saw the poll on Showtime that had 65% saying Matthysse wins. Danny has a great shot to win because he just finds ways to win
Gambit808
Mayweather losing to Canelo would take the cake on anything on this list being that it is the biggest fight of the year, and to be honest, I'd think I'd be more shocked if Mayweather KO's Alverez than it being the other way around, since Canelo is being built as the bigger stronger fighter, and Mayweather hasen't cleanly knocked a guy in 6 years, yet alone a guy at SWW. Don't get me wrong though I know about Mayweather's so called "deceptive power" but rarely is he more capable of taking a guy out (when hurt) as he use to.

Garcia-Matthysse can go both ways as an upset, mainly if it were to end in a KO. I don't think anyone, or atleast anyone I've asked expects this fight to go 12 rounds yet alone being a dull fight. So either one of those two, to me, would be considered an upset. This goes for Broner-Maidana, Bradley-Marquez, Ruslan-Alvarado, and Arreola-Mitchell.

Rios beating PAC in any shape or form is a HUGE upset, I don't give a fuck how u slice it... That's just how I feel. laugh.gif

Mayweather will get beat in the biggest upset this year. Canelo will catch him and stop him.

Experience plays a major part in that fight and I think Saul will come out and try to knock Mayweather out in the first three rounds and then it will be all downhill for Saul.

1. Negative ghost rider.....that pattern is full. I repeat, that pattern is full

2. Agreed.

3. Don't see how this is an upset. The blob KO's Porcelain Chin

4. Agreed. Marcos will get folded by yet ANOTHER body shot.

5. Negative. I think Matthysse gives Danny all he ever wants...but I think it's a pick 'em.....is that flip flopping on my part?

6. Eeeeeehhhhhhh.....at first I was all Alvarado, but the more I think of this, the more I believe Alvarado will have a hard time NOT brawling w/ dude.

7. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

8. Negative....JMM. That Prodnikov fight likely took a big chunk outta "Dome, Thugs & Harmony" and JMM, regardless of age, is NOT the cat to be in there with in your next fight after such punishment. I like JMM.

Maybe they cashing him out, look at the way he fought Banks in the rematch recently. It was more what Banks didn't do as opposed to what Seth was doing and when Banks did so something he was hurting Mitchell repeatedly. If a fighter like Arreola gets him hurt like that he's going to get finished

1. Call me crazy, but I'm starting to like Canelo's chances here.

2. Arreola is ripe for the pickin', but Im not sure how Mitchell fares here. As soon as he gets touched, he just loses all ring integrity and his legs go on vacation.

3. Broner is supposed to win this fight, but who knows? I've learned to not put the carriage in front of the horse. As mentioned already, Maidana's body is always open for shots...period.

4. If Devons happens to lose this one, then not only will it be an upset, but it would be an embarrassment. Khan is a busy fighter, but he doesn't belong at WW against guys with great/exceptional power.

5. Alvarado is a victim of his own brawler's mentality. He's a brawler...too bad his face isn't on board with the idea, lol. I still dont see this as being any type of upset, regardless of the outcome.

6. The only way this will be an upset, is if Molina happens to stop Smith. Molina doesn't have many KOs to his name, but he is able to hurt guys if he lands cleanly.

7. Fuck him...GRJ that is. I wouldn't mind seeing him get starched by a nobody.

8. Bradley's a full blown WW...Im not so sure if I can give JMM the "W" at this very moment. JMM isn't a big puncher at WW, regardless of what he did to Manny, so him keeping Bradley off, will be the story.

9. Rodriguez can and will beat Miguel. Hasn't Miguel learned his lesson about fighting guys that tower over him? Apparently, not. This wont be an upset...it'll just be one of those "Why did Cotto even take this fight?" type of deals.

10. I forgot about Garcia/Matthysse. If Lucas wins, he'll simply be doing what other predicted. If Danny wins...he better do it in an impressive fashion...or else he'll be staring at a rematch. Again, if Danny wins, it wont be an upset...it'll simply be a moment where he and his fans can wipe the sweat off their foreheads. laugh.gif

i think the only one that would be considered a real upset is canelo over cotto. maybe one of the corpses the klitschkos fight...if they lose to one of them.

the rest of these fights...anything can happen.

pac coming off that ko loss losing to rios won't be a big deal imo.

arreolla should bomb on mitchell but i wouldn't be shocked if mitchell beat arreolla.

broner/maidana can go either way...

matthysse/garcia is 50/50

ruslan/alvarado 50/50

molina/smith 50/50 but i think molina is going to get him.

bradley/marquez 50/50

rodriguez/cotto....i think rodriguez is going to beat him. i guess u can consider that an upset, but not a major one.

I am not going to call you crazy because a lot of people are counting Canelo to beat Mayweather, soundly beat Mayweather. As we know, whenever people pick Mayweather to lose badly, he steps up BIG. See the Hatton odds and Diego Corrales odds. What do you like about Saul's odds in winning. Saul does seem like a cool dude, I can tell he wants all that lime light and superstar status shit. He drips it. But you have to earn it. I still have my money on Mayweather. I am actually intrigued by his mindset this fight. It seems he has a lot going on outside the ring. And I remember what BHop said, it might not be Mayweather's night.

Canelo's just waaay too calm about this, unlike Floyd's recent opponents who pretend to not care, but all the while, they're putting way too much thought into it. Cotto had the most success because he was calm and could care less about what Floyd could do to him...he was more concerned about what he was gonna do to Floyd, which he executed an exceptional game plan.

I'm looking out for Canelo's phantom punches...you know, the one that's coming off as one shot, but ends up being another punch once it lands. I like how he fakes a hook up top, but turns that shit into a body shot...or vice versa. Anytime you fake one punch and land a totally different one (like Floyd fakes the jab, but throws a hook), then you're in trouble.

Floyd's defense is at his greatest when a guy overcommits to a punch, but if you're faking one punch then landing a totally different one, then Floyd can only be prepared for so much of it.

The more I think about it... I think the fix is in if canelo doesn't get a ko. No way gbp, and showtime let this golden goose lose his goose egg unless he gets kod. Too much money involved and the general public would probably be happy to see Floyd get screwed.

All that taken into account along with the money involved in a rematch?? Shit is gonna get fishy just watch. I may be thinking sadisticly but hey, I'm a boxing fan shit like this always goes down. Especially in a year that's been to good to be true so far, maybe that's why I'm being so skeptical lol.

Here is what concerns me about Saul. I do not think he feels Floyd is as good as people say he is. In "All Accesshe said Mayweather has been able to choose his opponents and he knew he would win. Which tells me, all his fights have been against weaker opposition. I know Saul wants that fame and money and superstar status. he has the looks and the ethnicity to be one of the biggest stars in all of sports. Here lays the problem that I have: Experience. He has not fought a fighter of Floyd's talents. Now, the hype he is getting from his trainer and GB maybe his down fall. Oscar is already saying Saul is a smarter boxing than Mayweather...go figure. I know Saul is a clam guy, but he has a tendency to get cagey in the ring and go for broke, we saw it against Trout and against Lopez. If things do not go his way he leaves himself open which is why Lopez landed some good body shots on Canelo. Plus, Saul swings widely and sometimes wildly and that can cost him.

Cotto did execute a perfect game plan, but he still lost because Floyd adjusted brilliantly. That 12th round May could of gotten Cotto out of there but held back. I honestly do not think Saul has the boxing skill or ring intelligence of a Miguel Cotto, that comes with experience. The only thing that bothers me about Floyd is what is going on outside of the ring. His dad is a defensive specialist. I doubt if their game plan is to let Floyd stand toe to toe. I think this fight will be interesting for the first 4 rounds and then the lesson will start. Saul is going to try to knock Mayweather out early. That is his best shot. The longer this fight goes I just do not see how Canelo can win.

Check: I agree with you. Unless Floyd has a dominate and I mean dominate performance they are going to rob him, rob him BIG time. Canelo has too much money in behind him and in front of him.

You very well maybe correct. However, that premise is predicated on Mayweather playing the part of a fighter w/ (what I like to call) "Palestinian issues" (Palestinian issues= never missing an opportunity to MISS an opportunity). For me, I don't see that happening. In order for the screws to get put to May, we're gonna need to see a KO (which could happen w/n the first 2-3 rounds) or Canelo driving the fight WHILE Floyd is simultaneously doing nada....I mean, NADA. I think the only screws will be, Floyd by SD and rematch ensures for even BIGGER $$$$$$ (not as big as rematch after a May loss).

I'll be honest w/ you: I CAN see how ND mascot could win......I just don't see how Floyd plays the part of "enabler" to allow all of that to happen.

By the SC is going to have a shitty season. RB is out and no real QB in the line up. UCLA is taking the Pac 10 crown!

I like Sc and I like the bruins but they ain't been shit since box fades were in style. Notre Dame is a good school. Y'all seem to harbor a lot of resentment for that school. Don't come to Chicago and say that you might get fucked up. They love them bastards out here.

If USC did what they normally do and pay the players to come there we wouldn't have this problem. Now I rock with the pac conference on the track side but we used to bust they ass and laugh at'em.

The little birdies told me that Dolimite's college trainer fed him steak after practice, then tried to "Sandusky" him after hours...

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I can deny that shit. My coaches were fucking chics from Clark, Morris Brown and Spellman. Especially from Clark. Now the male cheerleaders kept their eyes on me, fucking Jeremy king was the worse. That dude was too much, you think Magic Johnson son was bad. King was fucking terrible. Bitch wore sequence pants!!!

I don't get the hate for Notre Dame, coming up I watched a lot of their games. Lou Holtz is one of my all time favorite coaches and that QB they got now Everett Golston is the truth. Unfortunate for them that he suspended though. Plus they got top notch education there. Only down side to them is its in wack ass indiana. I'd go on welfare before I moved anywhere in that shit state

How the hell is Golston academically ineligible but Manti Teo managed to stay eligible? How is that even possible?

I love coach Holtz. But still fuck ND!

Respectfully, F*ck Holtz....always sounds like he needs to swallow a mouthful of spit when he talks. Excellent coach at one point.....

LOL @ Indiana......no shit. I was looking for a way to leap frog the rest of the state, when driving to 'Nap (I'm in SLOW-hio). Suffice to say, didn't happen.

If the Klan fielded a team and they played ND, I'd be conflicted by for which team to support. THAT is how much I loathe ND.

When Brittany came out, the first thing I thought was "No shit!" Her voice is damn near as deep as mine. Her body is flat like an iron board. And Brittany got punked in that game against Oklahoma, which was funny to me. You need to give me this chic's name who looks badder than Skylar, because she was a bad one. her height is what gets me. She is a bad one!

I got to dig in the archives and find her, I think her and Skylar are the same age.

I keep reading that people think Floyd and Broner will be the next upsets to happen...sounds like wishful thinking to me
