there it is with that said no point talking about top rank fighters vs golden boy..it's just feeding into their scam

Good...now lets get going with Bradley-Pac 2. Those guys have unfinished business. If Pac beats Rios in a few weeks, we HAVE to see this rematch.
mrchitown
At least he's honest about the situation

You know what, I'm gonna disagree with Bradley here.. pac gained a lot of his fame by calling Floyd out even though the fight had no chance of happening. Tim needs fame, being smart about this is the last thing he needs. He needs a fucking buzz, and he's not gonna get it by keeping his mouth shut.

Say floyds name every sentence, get a reaction out of the mayweathers. Build some anticipation for your next fight, get yourself some money bro! Fuck common sense

As a fan, I'm glad he said what he said. That being said, what you said was spot on. That's how he got the Pacquiao fight.

I disagree a bit, I would feel like less of a man if I had to keep another man's name in my mouth to provide for me and mines. Much the way that Arum does with Manny and is now doing with Cotto. It's no honor in leeching off of another person. I respect what he said and what he's doing. Blaze your own trail and stand on your own

So you then don't respect any legendary Hall of fame heavyweight from the 1900's up to 1980? Because the majority of them did the same exact thing you are knocking.

This is just wrong. Pac got his fame by going 5-2-1 against the legendary Mexican trio at the lighter weights. He REALLY gained his fame when he whipped Oscar, ICED Hatton, and TKO'd Cotto. That was continued when he beat up on naturally bigger men like Margarito, Clottey, and Mosley. Bradley doesn't have the buzz that Pac has because he doesn't have the resume.

Bradley needs to rematch and beat Pac CLEARLY. That is the most logical next step. These 2 have unfinished business.

Maybe I don't, that's disgusting to me to have to keep saying someone's name to make a buck. The greats are the ones that stand on their own. Maybe you a follower so you identify with them, I'm not so I don't.

And it's a clear difference between then and now

Really?? It's not wrong at all, pac was a popular fighter before this whole Floyd thing happened. It's no coincidence he calls out Floyd before every single one of his fights.. I'm a bigger fan of boxing than I am of either Floyd or pac but Bradley seems like one of the few genuine guys in the industry, but he isn't gonna get paid by being genuine. He needs to turn up his fucking mouth and get some $$$ because like Floyd hes getting disrespected and all he's ever done is win and work hard.

There was serious, SERIOUS demand for Manny-Floyd and that demand came from the fact that Manny was so dominant against so many legitimate fighters. The demand just isn't there for Bradley-Mayweather and Bradley running his mouth won't do much to change that. Manny was wildly popular before the Oscar fight, but after he crushed Oscar and iced Hatton the MP hype really got turned up. Bradley isn't close to that level of hype.

A rematch with Pac is a must for him to get close to that level. He needs to fight and beat Pac pretty convincingly. The VAST majority of reasonable boxing fans know that he lost the first fight, so he needs to win the 2nd fight pretty convincingly.

Bradley is in a tough situation if he doesn't want to fight Pac because the options after him in the TR stable are slim. A rematch with Prov would be a massive mistake. Alvarado is busted and obviously a rematch with JMM isn't in play. A Rios win over Pac would be Bradley's best bet IF he doesn't want to fight Pac, but I can't imagine any other fight for Bradley at this point than Pac.

Hopefully Bradley's contract with TR is up in a year or so. He can get the 1 fight with Pac out of the way, fight a second fight with someone under TR, then move on to GBP for fights against Garcia/Khan/Lucas/Mayweather/Canelo.

But they had a legitimate shot at the fight happening lol. I think Bradley is basically saying "let's nip this in the bud now. This fight will never happen and we all know why." Great move character wise. Dumb move business wise. As for Pacquiao, while he certainly built his legacy making big fights, you are absolutely right. A big chunk of Manny's legacy is the fact that people, for some odd reason, think Floyd Mayweather is scared of him. The reason he's still relevant now is because there are casual fans out there that think he's the one person that will beat Floyd. Why? I have no idea. But a substantial portion of his popularity consists of hatred for Mayweather.
Dolimite
I am not buying this shit whatsoever. Bradley knows his contract is coming to an end and it will be up to him to resign to TR. Now, he could be posturing, making it seem like the Mayweather fight is no big deal to him. On boxingscene it is said that JMM wants a rematch with Bradley, which will be money for both fighters. Here is my thinking, I think Bradley is trying to build name recognition so when the two sides do bargain, he can ask for more money. If he beats JMM twice that will increase his stock. Bradley is not in an iron clad contract like Pac is with TR, if he wants the Mayweather fight all he has to do is wait. If anything, what he just did was build intrigue and want. Plus now, if the public demands this fight, Bradley can point to his manager and say, "its Arum and not me" which will get people really in Arum's ass. Maybe then Arum will be forced to make a fight. Tim is buying his time, he is playing chess....
mrchitown
I'm glad he came out and said his contract is up next year so we can all stop wondering lol. What happens with him next, regardless is interesting..if he resigns with TR, who do they match him with? They don't have major players in the 140-154 classes. If Tim rides out the contract. Then who does he fight in the interim to bide his time til he's able to move over to GB? I wouldn't be surprised if win or lose Rios gets the nod

Something tells me he will probably look haymons way first instead of GB. Haymon seems to really take care of his fighters business wise
truth
I agree that he is playing chess him saying he wants Floyd will only make arum tighten his grip this way he looks loyal to top rank and could possibly walk away smoothly the type of payday a floyd fight would bring would be more than what he could make in two or three fights so him saying the fight wont happen is good game and makes me respect him more i hope he sticks it arum if it's possible. At this point a fight with pac makes since but if Bradley feet aren't messed up he will box circles around pac and that would be bad for arum especially trying to rebuild pacs career so he wont match pac with a boxer anytime soon only guys who come forward unless its jmm

LOL dude they are not fighting as long as he's with top rank its not chess or anything it's him being real, thats why they hate him. He's not misleading the public like pacquaio saying a fight with floyd will happen when it never will

Yea I gotta agree here. I think we are giving Tim a little too much credit. I think he was just being blunt and honest...almost to a fault. I think Bradley has come to terms with the fact that Arum isn't going to promote him into the star he feels he could be so his only goal while he's under Top Rank is to beat every person Bob puts in front of him and spoil Bob's plans of building a new cash cow.

The dude is being blunt, and its respectable that hes honest. But honesty isn't gonna get him checks cut! Even if the fight is nearly impossible open your mouth bro! Talk that shit! Make it so it looks like you don't want any other fight! You have kids and their futures to think of, you can't fight forever.. he can't do any worse than guerrero at talking shit

I don't hardly believe that but I think the reason he got the fight with Pac is because first and foremost he's with TR, second Arum figured Manny P would beat the brakes off of Tim easily but it backfired on him just as it did in the Provo fight.

You have to understand that Arum doesn't support his AA fighters unless they fight like Gatti which is why he goaded Tim into fighting a brawling style vs Provo and he's now attempting to bash on Rigo (although not black but has dark skin) in the public calling him boring and saying he needs to fight more of a fan friendly style.

No matter how much crying out Tim does/using the Pacquiao formula (aligning his name with Floyd's every chance he gets) he will not get that fight just as Tim stated as long as Bradley remains with Top Rank.

he didn't goad Bradley.. come on bro, Bradley is a stubborn dude he fought that way because he thought he could.

And as far as him using floyds name that's just what it would be, because its been painfully obvious from the start of this thread that we all know the fight is not possible. What we were debating was whether or not he made the right move by not USING floyds name to gain some publicity and help out his buzz.

While I do find it honorable to tell fans (especially those less educated
) that the fight is never happening while he's under TR. But I don't think it was smart financially

1. You don't think that Arum had anything to do with the way that Bradley fought Provo? That's cool, it's your right to disagree but look how long Tim was shelved with TR before he fought this fight, furthermore look at the things that Bob is saying now to and about Rigo and how he needs to become more "Fan Friendly" if you will, that's just another way of saying fight like an unskilled fighter while putting yourself at risk all for the entertainment of the public. Cool, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this.

2. Yes, it is always the right move to use Mayweather's name to garner publicity, every fighter short of Klitschko is doing it nowadays and it worked for Manny Pac for doing it all these years then why shouldn't it work for them or Tim for that matter.

3. It isn't smart financially for Tim to stay with Top Rank if this is what you are referring to then I agree, he can make far more money by not signing or re-upping with Top Rank/Arum than he could if he stayed. Look how smart Cotto was and got his deal with Floyd, if only Pacquiao was smart enough to leave Arum then we would've already have seen the Floyd vs Manny P fight.

Idk where that 1 came from on my post Lmao so don't think I was trying to talk down to you or something bro.

But your right, its your opinion also about the arum topic and ill respect it.

But after the pac fight, with the backlash he got... The death threats, the hate, lack of respect, as a man I think he was just trying to prove a point with ruslan and had less to do with arum and more with public opinion and everything that built up. Look at the type of competitor Bradley is, I think all those factors are what set him on course to perform the way he did against provo. But arum was a part of it to I agree with that. But as an athlete, I would probably go out and do the same thing after everything he went through

You could be right about Tim having a chip on his shoulder since being put on the shelf by Arum and part of it could just be his competitive nature as well but those things we do not know for sure or not but what is tangible is now we have Arum suggesting that Rigo fight a more "fan friendly" style to accommodate supposed more interests from the public or to please Bob Arum whichever we decide.
