I'm not even sure what to think of this fight...just like I do for most Hopkins fight. Lol

I believe Hops will neutralize Shumenov's weapons, and make it a boring fight. Just cant see this guy 1-upping Bernard, but Bernard's age and the wonder as to who can actually "stop" him, makes all of his fights interesting at this point.

This pretty much sums it up for me too. Shumenov's showed poise and power, but he never fought the skill set of B-Hop.

Shumenov is a young strong Lion and I think if he is mentally strong, he could hurt Hopkins. I do not think he has the ring IQ to hang with B Hop, however if he ends this fight between the first and 6 rounds, then he has a real shot at beating B Hop then again, he is fighting the ageless wonder

Hopkins, as always will more then likely find a way to win. Shumenov showed some good things in his recent outing but I don't think he has the right amount of seasoning to handle Bernard

I just wish these boxers would stop hiding behind networks and lying. Nobody on HBO has an exclusive deal with them, if they(Kovalev/Stevenson) REALLY wanted to fight Bernard they could. I wish these 2 fights probably more then any would happen because imo Bernard is the best 175lber in the game and if he fought them he would win decisively

He's a good puncher. But I went to his fight against oozelkov where he nearly got stopped (dropped once). Hell of a fight, believe it was on FnF. He has decent ability but nothing that I think can trouble bhop unless he catches him

Not many have fought a style like Bernard's. Shumenov better keep it real basic and pressure him.

Right! HBO is trying to wine & dine these guys and talk about how great they are, but Im not even sure of they have an exclusive deal with them. The fighters themselves have yet another excuse to not fight hard fights...first it was the promoters...now its the promoters and the networks.

Honestly, those guys (Stevenson, Kovalev, GGG) aren't as talented as they're being sold. Talented? Yes. HBO has the tendency to build these guys up to be the "next best thing", but in all actuality, they were nowhere near interested in them when they first fought on the network...until they KO'd guys and somewhat put HBO back in the game.

Before that, they weren't getting the recognition that they're getting now. As history as shown us, when HBO is done with you....they're done with you...they treat you like a $2 piece of ass when you're either, 1. ruining their plans (i.e. Rigo beating the hell outta Donaire), 2. not on board with their bullshit (the reason that Floyd left), or you're not willing to leave your organs in the ring for every fight.

It's articles with Hershman being interviewed talking about how they're not and do not have fighters' exclusive rights. Obviously they did that because of the GB debacle but that's neither here nor there. The point is if Kovalev and Adonis really wanted to fight Bernard, all they got to do is walk across the street. So many keep saying this and that but for me, until they beat Bernard, he is KING of light-heavy. Neither is too eager to get in the ring with him and you can hear it in their interviews.

GGG, Kovalev, and Adonis are only being featured on HBO because they fit the agenda of what HBO is trying to push and they're looking for anything to counteract the surge of Showtime. They're good but not as good as the network suggests they are. If they were smart they'd make a big push with Mikey Garcia. He's the real deal

Many people thought Tovaris Cloud was too rough for the Old man.. Cloud was confident he would send Hopkins into retirement. Bottom line... Mentally fighters get drained from the pressure of possibly losing to the 50 year old, and also actually having to deal with the fact that he is like 20 years younger inside the ring... Hopkins puts alot of mental pressure on a fighter. people may talk shit but Hopkins is one helluva a task.. the guy is top ten all time in my book---

People laugh and dismiss Bernard when he says certain things but like his trainer Naz, all he does is tell the truth. HBO is trying to make the public believe that Kovalev and Stevenson are the best. And people are falling for it. No one was saying this until they both appeared on HBO. Soon as they each knocked someone out, Hopkins will get badly hurt, he doesn't want to fight them etc etc. Last time I checked he's been a player at @175 longer then we've even known these 2 and has held the belt @175 on more then a few occasions. Every time you look up the robocop fighters come along and gullible fans just eat it up. They all fall eventually, Matthysse was just the most recent example of that.

I'm not saying they don't pose a threat to him because they do. But he had more tools in his tool belt. Kovalev and Stevenson are still improving they don't even have the proper tools to truly test Hopkins

Doesn't necessarily have to be on the chin. Pascal dropped him with a shot by the ear or the temple. Shumenov has a good punch but as someone said earlier he may doesn't posess the iq to stand across the ring let alone the street from bhop... But then again not many fighters do

Correct, yet Pascal has explosive speed.. surprised Hopkins...

That it did! Can you say, "flash" knockdown? It happened so quick...

Shumenov has some speed. It should be better than Hopkins last fight
The Original MrFactor
Shumenov is a speed/activity guy. He will give Hopkins trouble in those two areas.

The last fight was pretty exciting.... You suggesting Shumenov will have more success against Hopkins than the last guy

Hopkins was forced to let his hands go in his last fight.... this should be a good one then
