I hope the father doesn't complain too much about Loma getting another opportunity and just allows Russell to go out there and defeat this guy... I wasn't impressed at all with him during the Salido fight
karmine20
And this is exactly why boxing is so corrupt now. How in the hell does someone who lost the championship get another shot. Only at top robbery aka top rank. and it would be different if it was a close fight. Heck it didnt look like he stood a chance til the 12th round and by that time salido was too tired and fyi salido is some shit. this is straight fuckery on so many levels
TheCritics
while your thoughts might be true, there's not a thing fans can do about the corrupt bodies doing unethical stuff for promoters with money... all I can say is Russell needs to hammer him
Plah
Well, like it or not Lomachenko is a step up for Russell Jr. dntknw.gif

Now that's a crying shame...Lomanchenko has only had 2 fights and has more recognition and credible opponents than GRJ. Sad, but comical...

I'm still trying to figure out what Lomachenko has done so far IN THE PRO's to deserve this recognition. I rather see GRJ go against Salido for the title.
AZWildCat
That's that bullshit

Got one more post, then you're at 1000 my man!!!

Congrats douchebag, your contributions have been amazing around here, and they haven't gone unnoticed! Now I'm waiting on Ryustuh, AZ, and few others to reach that "1000 status"! Appreciate you guys and your hard work!

I really hope this fight gets made some how someway so GRJ can destroy Lomanchenko
mgrover
I was never really fussed about the title cause realistically its a paper belt since Salido isn't the lineal champ. If Lomanchenko wasn't fighting for the belt am sure you guys wouldn't have an issue that he was fighting such a high calibre guy already.

Totally agree, titles are what they are...titles...and everybody seems to be the champion of something nowadays in the sport. However, I was more upset at the fact that he got a shot at big name fighters this soon. Rigo on the other hand, was demolishing guys and looked good doing it, but we were afforded the opportunity to see Loman fight once...knowing that those fights early in a fighter's career, are usually can-kickers and PE coaches.

I probably wouldn't. I'd just down grade to just calling it a risky decision on the high caliber fighters part, which either way you look at it, it is. Even while being a "paper belt" though, no matter how skilled and accomplished you were in the Amature and Olympic trials, I don't think it's fair to the other guys who actually bust there asses and earn their shots in the pro's to get where they're ranked, and then be overlooked by a guy that just got in to get his feet wet. I don't want to take to much away from Loma despite being outweighed and argumently over matched, he put on a gutsy performance, but maybe if had gotten a few more fights and experience under his belt, he could have come away with the W... And now this?! Now he's being tapped to fight GRJ without even a comeback/tune up fight?! Loma's got balls but I'm gonna ride with Chi's post on this subject, because it seems like dude wanna cash out on his still young career too soon.

Hey, this the first top 10 GRJ will face, that is the only real reason I am even remotely interested in this fight happening. This will be a name on GJR that is recognizable. We will see what both men are made up. I like GRJ in this, Gambito, put me down for GRJ in a UD actually naw in a stoppage.

Wth? Top 10 where?

He is fighting the number 5 guy in his weight class. Lomachenko is ranked number 5, so he is a top 10 guy.

nice work gambit! i was going strong at the beginnin of the year...was just outta surgery and had endless time to kill. back to working 12-14 hour days, appeasing the sig other, and doing what i can to check in here every so often.

regarding lomachenko and grj, im going with gary by UD. vasyl has a solid skill-set, but honestly, i think it's a different beast altogether when you're up on the big stage and the mental effects start kicking in, and it's not like his competition is getting any easier with a guy like grj. shame to see a great prospect thrown to the wolves so early on in his career.

Oh I thought you had something credible to say something like that. I don't care what no sanctioning body ranks someone. I like Deontay but he's done nothing to be ranked as high as he is by the WBC, and that's just one example...with the right team I could go pro tomorrow and get ranked for a title shot

Vasyl and even a top 20 guy in his own division...thats why I can't wait to see if TR/GB can work something out so GRJ can ice this privileged bum

Tell them your name is Gambito! Cats getting real disrepectful. They going to swim with the fishes! Congrats on the 1K POST

Damn My dude Lomachenko gets no love. Whats sad is it probably wasn't even his idea to fight Salido or GRJ! He's probably just such a confident dude that he don't care.

Another question, how do yall think GRJ would have done against a Salido who came in 20 pounds heavier? I think GRJ even with his however many fights would have gotten KO'd.

The fact that Lomachenko Lasted all 12 rounds (after his previous fight being only 4 rounds) against a welterweight speaks volumes to me even in his loss. This is Regardless of his Amateur career, Any pro that starts off; if they were placed in there with the Champion of their division most likely get smoked even before the 6th round. 99% of people wouldn't even have fought Salido for the 2nd fight... I know that's not the way its supposed to go but you cant ever say Lomachenko took the easy road.

Lomachenko vs GRJ- Lomachenko still has the best opposition of the 2 by vsing Salido, GRJ hasn't versed anyone that has even has their own wikipedia page! Its a great fight and I can't wait to watch it, GRJ may finally be headlining in a fight. But at this point I still think Lomachenko can take his shine, Arum supports Lomachenko and wants him as one of his cash cows, so I know Arum ain't gonna put him in there to lose.... Put me down for LomaChenko
TheCritics
I like Loma myself, the talent is definitely there, just gotta go against everything that fosters the further corruption of our beloved sport... nobody, and I do mean nobody should be ranked #5 by any sanctioning body after going 1-1 during the start of his pro career

Glad as hell Salido beat him and hopefully Russell follows suit

otherwise, If your promoter can spend enough money to put you in line for a trinket opportunity you can leap over every top ten fighter who probably took years to get where they are... a nice 1-2 record to start won't destroy his career anyway BHop started 1-1 too
Franchize
Are these 2 guys career paths not the exact opposite or what? lmaoooo One guy getting way too many quality opportunities way too early. The other taking way too long to fight someone worth talking about.

Good to see your surgery went well sir. Damn, what is that you do that has you working 12-14 hrs a day?! Sheesh...

Oh yeah, you can vent to us when that "appeasing the significant other" goes south at times...we all tend to throw our stories in there...shit happens. laugh.gif

Thank you Captain Obvious! Though it's so obvious, the question still needed to be asked. This fight happening, makes you wanna scratch your head and ask "why?"...kinda like the same feeling I have about the Marquez/Alvarado fight being made? Straight pointless in my opinion. Lol
