I'll be looking for a opponent to fight June 30th," stated former jr. welterweight champion, who notified his followers via Twitter that his highly anticipated rematch with jr. welterweight champion Lamont Peterson has officially been cancelled after Peterson tested positive for anabolic steroids. The news sent shockwaves through the industry yesterday when news first broke of the positive test results.
In his written appeal, Peterson admitted to using testosterone pellets prior to his first match with Khan in December, a move he believes was justified after a doctor prescribed the FDA approved procedure to help with abnormally low levels of testosterone. Naturally, upon hearing this news, Team Khan is now exploring the possibility of having the result of the first fight changed to a No Contest and getting his titles returned.
