"I've been leaning towards Timothy Bradley. If Tim can take his punch, Pacquiao's in for a long night, but he's gotta be able to take his punch though. It's a different type of punch too. If he can take it, I might give it to Timothy Bradley, but if not, you know, PacMan is PacMan. I was looking at some of his sparring and Pacquiao wasn't looking that good. He's been looking a little different in sparring. He doesn't look like the same fighter no more. It looks like he's getting old (laughing). The clock might turn back on Manny too. You never know," stated future Hall of Famer Shane Mosley, who shared his opinion on Saturday's showdown between 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao and undefeated jr. welterweight champion Timothy Bradley.
Mosley knows firsthand what it's like to have to face a man who's young and hungry, having recently announced his retirement from the sport after a disappointing loss to Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, who is 20 years younger than him. In fact, according to Mosley, he sees a fire in Bradley's eyes that he once had many years ago, and that could be the difference in what may turn out to be a long, grueling fight. "Tim is hungry and young. He kinda reminds me of me like when I fought Oscar. You know, I was like, 'I'm not losing this fight,' and Tim is kinda like that," Mosley explained. Check out what else Mosley had to say as he breaks down the fight!
SHANE MOSLEY:
I had no legs when I fought Pacquiao. I had no legs and no feet. My left leg, my achilles popped, and then the other side, I had blisters. That's what I was telling Naazim. I was like, "Naazim, you know my situation. I can't move. I have no wheels." So for me to be able to make that move that Naazim was talking about; I hated it by the way. I hated that stupid move because I couldn't throw no punches back (laughing). I had to do that move because I had to survive, you know what I'm saying? I had to do that stupid move. (Laughing) It wasn't stupid; it was good move because Marquez made it work. Marquez can move that way. You know, Marquez can throw that left uppercut and a right hand, however he does. He throws punches from that angle. So Timothy Bradley, knowing this information, can definitely use it to his advantage.
And for him to have that type of confidence and Pacquiao, you know, having problems in sparring like that...if Pacquiao would've fought me looking like he's looking in sparring, I probably could've did something even hurt (laughing).
I'm thinking upset. They might not be able to give it to Manny on the scorecards if Timothy can take his punch. If he can take his punch, Timothy is going to go to him and fight the shit out of him. Timothy's going to go out there going crazy. Manny better be all that he's supposed to be because if he ain't, Timothy's going to make sure...man, they're both the same height and Timothy is aggressive.
