"This is the first time in my boxing career that my family is going to watch me live, my children, my kids. Of course I'm excited to give a good show and do my best in the ring," stated WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, who's is just days away from his June 9th title defense against undefeated jr. welterweight champion Timothy Bradley. After both fighters made their grand arrivals earlier today at the MGM Grand, Pacquiao revealed that he has extra motivation heading into the fight.
"Yes, for them, and I'm excited and very happy that my kids, my children, they're going to watch. This is the first time for them, so, you know, I'm so excited," Pacquiao explained when asked if this fight was going to be for his kids. "This is the first time that my children are going to watch the fight live and I'm so inspired and I'm happy that they're going to watch the fight." Considering that this is the first time that the children of the 8-division world champion will get to see their father fight live, it's highly doubtful that he'll disappoint. Check out what else Pacquiao had to say to the members of the media that were in attendance:
MANNY PACQUIAO:
In the ring, I have to do my job to make people happy, so that's my job. I came here to fight.
I'm ready and excited.
It's nice to be back here in Vegas, and thank you to all the fans who came here for showing their support. There's a lot of boxing fans who came here, so thank you.
First time to Vegas, of couse I'm very excited the first time I came here. A few people knows me; nobody. It's a big difference because right now, I have a big responsibility to do my job, to give a good fight and the people are expecting that. That's why they came here to give their support.
I expect him to be 100% conditioned and he trained hard for this fight, and I believe the people will be happy and we can give a good fight.
I do my best in training, but I always pray. God knows.
Only God knows. I trained hard for this fight and I'm ready for the fight, so we will see on Saturday.
This fight, I trained hard. I do my best in training. We applied the plyometrics training and I pray to God that this fight will be awesome and will be good.
This training camp, we did our best. I feel like I'm 26 years old, 27 years old.
