Moments ago, Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer and President Oscar De La Hoya revealed that WBC jr. middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will defend his title against former welterweight champion Victor Ortiz on September 15th in a Showtime Pay-Per-View quadruple-header. The card will also feature WBC featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez defending his title against Daniel Ponce De Leon. The other two fights have yet to be determined.

As an added incentive, one fighter will have an opportunity to walk away with a bonus check of $100,000 after fans vote on who had the best knockout of the night. "You cannot leave it up to the judges, especially when there's $100,000 on the line and the fans are going to decide which knockout was the best knockout of the night," stated De La Hoya. Apparently, the theme is centered around the concept that fighters have to stop leaving the outcome to the judges.

"These are exciting guys...fighters are starting to realize that winning is imiportnat, but winning is not everything...this is about entertaining...these guys come to fight and they're going to go for it," Schaefer explained. "September 15th, you can leave your scorecards at home because you won't need them."
