"Right now, the rematch is not something that we're proceeding with," stated Top Rank President Todd duBoef, who made it crystal clear that they have no plans of moving forward with a November 10th rematch between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley. According to duBoef, who revealed the news on tonight's broadcast of The Fight Game With Jim Lampley, the public needs "restored confidence", and due to the controversial nature of the first bout, he's of the opinion that Pacquiao should move forward with a different bout in hopes that the Nevada State Attorney General will launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the scoring of last Saturday's fight.
"We're going to wait to hear from Manny. He wants to fight November 10th. We'll have conversations, but I really think the public needs to have restored confidence," duBoef continued. Bradley's manager, Cameron Dunkin, would echo those sentiments. "I don't know if it's going to happen November 10th. I had a long talk with Todd duBoef of Top Rank," Dunkin explained. "But it's definitely, I think it's a fight that has to happen."
The news comes on the heals of revelations that Juan Manuel Marquez has agreed to terms for a fourth fight with Pacquiao on November 10th. Pacquiao is allegedly on board with the matchup, but a venue has yet to be determined and appear to be the only obstacles standing in the way of finalizing the bout.
