Late Thursday night, FightHype was able to speak with IBF jr. middleweight champion Cornelius Bundrage, who was relaxing in his hotel room as he prepared for the biggest title defense of his career in a rematch with former champion Cory Spinks.  Bundrage, who is rumored to be the leading candidate to face Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in September, seemed focused on the task at hand and the business in front of him.  "I never felt this strong before a fight without weighing.  I'm in the best shape of my life.  I thank God for the victory ahead of time.  It's time to see Iron Man in action!  My strength comes from Jesus.  I'm thankful to all my people praying for me, and now is my time.  God is great! Woof! Woof," stated Bundrage.

Bundrage won the title from Spinks in Spinks' hometown of St. Louis in August, 2010, but has only fought once since then, a unanimous decision victory over Sechew Powell last June.  While the combatants have been relatively cordial leading up to the fight, the two have not been shy about expressing their feelings toward one another.  Those sentiments seem to have spilled over into the lovely ladies behind the fighters.  Thursday night, on the official Facebok page of Spinks' wife, she wrote, "Did Cory's opponent wife wanna try me on FB? I told her Fake Ass We can handle this shit in Calif...Meet me in lobby,I never played no games..I'll beat that bitch to a post!! #SayWhenBitch."

The Bundrage vs. Spinks rematch headlines Showtime's ShoBox tripleheader Saturday night.
