"It was like a punch in the gut to see somebody work so hard and put so much into it. This was really going to be like a springboard. A lot of people been waiting to really see him get in there and do his thing. I had a lot of conversations with Floyd Sr. and Mickey usually looks pretty good, but Floyd Sr. was telling me he's never seen Mickey this sharp and this ready and he said Mickey is ready for a titleÂ…It doesn't make sense for the best fighter that Top Rank has period to one, be fighting in Texas Station on Friday Night Fights is a joke anyway, and then second, to fight on that card and not be on TV. He should have been the main event anyway," stated Fredrick Lamar of Team Bey, who shared his thoughts on the unfortunate situation that occurred last Friday to undefeated lightweight Mickey Bey, their future plans, and much more. Check it out!

PC: Last time we spoke you said you had some things in the making. What's new? What's good with you?

FL: Ah man, I got a venture I'm working on; slot machines, slot houses, and internet café's down in Santiago, Chile. While I was down there, I ran into some fabric vendors where I'm able to get some exclusive fabrics, which I was going to debut with Mickey Bey on that ESPN debacle the other night. But stay tuned! He will be on HBO soon with a bigger audience anyway.

PC: How disappointment was it from your standpoint, watching him put in that hard work only to have the fight not even happen under the circumstances in which it didn't happen?

FL: It was like a punch in the gut to see somebody work so hard and put so much into it. This was really going to be like a springboard. A lot of people been waiting to really see him get in there and do his thing. I had a lot of conversations with Floyd Sr. and Mickey usually looks pretty good, but Floyd Sr. was telling me he's never seen Mickey this sharp and this ready and he said Mickey is ready for a title. So we met with the people at Top Rank and they were like, "Yeah, we're gonna get you this fight on TV and after that, you're gonna be fighting for the title." For them to wait for us to get to the arena and say you fighting 30 minutes from now and you're not on TV anymore, it's like, "Huh?" And then for the guy Brad Goodman to get on the phone with Mick and tell him, "I'm eating lunch," and hang up on himÂ…it didn't make sense. It doesn't make sense for the best fighter that Top Rank has period to one, be fighting in Texas Station on Friday Night Fights is a joke anyway, and then second, to fight on that card and not be on TV. He should have been the main event anyway.

PC: Hopefully this fixes itself and everyone ends up happy.

FL: At the end of the day, Top Rank is doing what they have been doing for years and this is probably the first time somebody has stood up and not just bowed down to whatever they tell us to do. If he would have chosen to fight, they would have always tried to give us the run around. We sold 300 to 500 tickets personally for people to come see Mick. We had people flying from all over the United States to come see Mick fight and people tuning in thinking he's fighting at 7, and we get there and they tell us he fighting at 5:30; none of those people would have saw him that bought tickets. And they know we sold all those tickets.

PC: Yeah, that was a bad situation all around, but I think it all happened for a reason and hopefully you guys are satisfied with what the future holds. Moving back to the positive and your ventures though, can you conduct your business in Chile from here or are you gonna have to consider a move out of the country?

FL: Oh no, I have everything in place as far as my Skype, and I have an international phone with an 800 number and I can be reached on my Google Voice and so on and so forth. I'm always able to be reached and I will also have an assistant that will be in the States that will be working for me when I'm going back and forth to Chile. I'll be back and forth though. I have a business partner there and we're gonna rotate back and forth.

PC: What was it like out there in Chile?

FL: Chile was likeÂ…it really reminded me of New York City, believe it or not. They got all the street vendors selling their things on the streets, they got the subway system, but it's a lot cleaner than New York, but it's the same concept, and then all the taxis. That's their main means of transportation there is the cab. The big money people got cars, but everyone else use taxis to get around, and the subway of course. It was just refreshing. It was clean, the people were nice, and everybody was happy. There weren't no disgruntled workers mad because they working at KFC or some type of job that some people here don't appreciate just having a job. They appreciate the small things over there is what I noticed and I really enjoyed staying over there. My only complaint was that I didn't know what a lot of people were saying, but we had an interpreter down there working with us, so that made it easy, but I need to learn a little Spanish and it will be perfect.

PC: You do remarkable work with the threads and linen, and now you have the slot machines jumping off and you're putting your hat into managing boxers. How important is that for you to have a lot of irons in the fire and not just depend on one thing?

FL: It's great man, because what I really want to do is use the opportunity that I have in Santiago, Chile. I want to use that and empower a lot of guys in the sport of boxing to show that they don't have to take what they offering if it ain't fair. That's where it's going to be important for a guy like Mickey, to be able to take that stance and say, "I don't need the money that you are offering me, thinking I'm just gonna fight because you said so." Most fighters need the money, so they will be like, "We can sell him anything and he's gonna do it anyway because he needs the money." What I want to do is get other fighters involved with me as I get more involved with the management side where they will be comfortable and they don't have to settle or just do whatever the so-called old school promoter is telling them to do and it ain't right.

PC: How refreshing is it to see 50 Cent come over into boxing?

FL: It's a breath of fresh air to see 50 Cent put this effort into boxing. I have always been a huge fan of 50 Cent because he was an entrepreneur since day one and he branded himself and G-Unit and took the world by storm, and he's always been a smart business man. With him and Floyd being great friends, I knew it was just a matter of time before 50 got in Floyd's ear and let him know that he can really change boxing and make a difference.

PC: You have the website up and running. Let everyone know where they can go and check out your work.

FL: The website is www.fredricklamar.com and that will be a place where you can follow my tweets and check out some of my work. You can also follow me on Twitter @fredricklamar1 or just call me direct, I got my number on there, and set up a consultation. I can make anything, from linen shorts to golf pants, suits to a bikini for a super model, and also my boxing attire. I can fulfill all of their wardrobe needs, so give me a call and I will be happy to help. Look for Fredrick Lamar as a boxing manager real soon. I already got a stable of fighters already interested in working with me. I don't want to say any names right now, but they are lining up, and my venture in Chile is going to get me through that and we gonna take boxing by storm on this manager thing. So all of the old heads and boxing managers taking 33% and all that, when a guy making $5 to $600 when they first start is not gonna happen when you deal with me. I want you to prosper and when you start making good money, then we will start getting a percentage at that point. I want to give a shout out to a good friend of mine, Eric Culey out of Los Angeles, California, because he's been a real big inspiration on me to get my website up and going and taking it to the next level. There ain't no way to do it but the easy way. Always a pleasure to speak with you Percy.
