Check out what fans were asking and what Bellator light heavyweight King Mo Lawal had to say in this week's Grind mailbag as he touches on a number of subjects, including the future plans of Floyd Mayweather, TMT Promotions, and much more. Mo is answering any and all questions related to himself, mixed martial arts, boxing, wrestling, or just about anything, so send him an email at kingmo@fighthype.com and maybe next week, you too can see your questions and Lawal's responses in Mo's Grind.
Mo...been awhile since I hit you up. How have you been? Quick question, how do you see DC stacking up against Frank Mir and would you suggest he use his wrestling with Mir being so dangerous off of his back or keep it standing? Thanks in advance bro. Rico
King Mo: DC by whatever he wants. It won't go past 2 rounds!
Floyd appears to have stayed in shape during his prison stint, but what's up with the fro man. I laughed my ass off when I saw that. And it appears he plans on keeping it for a min. just saw some pics yestersay with him with it. Lol. Anyways, good to see him out and are you gonna grow your fro out too brah?
King Mo: LOL! Me too! He need to cut that shit! I think he just cut it off. I hope so. LOL! I ain't growin' my shit out.
I JUST WANTED YOUR QUICK THOUGHTS ON THE MIDDLEWEIGHT AND LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISIONS IN THE UFC. DO YOU FEEL BONES AND SPIDER HAVE CLEARED THEM OUT BEING THAT MOST OPPONENTS IN THE NEAR FUTURE WILL BE REMATCHES ETC...THANKS FOR YOUR THOUGHTS. I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR BELLATOR AND TNA DEBUTES
King Mo: Yawn! Don't care!!
Hey Mo in your opinion what fight makes the most sense for Floyd if it's not gonna be Pacquiao and even though it was only 2 months in jail would you like to see him get a tuneup type of fight in before jumping in with the big fish? Prison is prison and even though a short stay I would like to see him get his legs back against a tuneup type of fighter preferably a southpaw...I know man, but im still hoping for tha fight. Lol. Thanks REZ.
King Mo: I ain't sure. I need to see if he wanna fight still. He just needs to take time off and enjoy life.
Have you been doing any kind of mitt work or grappling or are you still limited in that department? How is it going and when will you be hitting wrestling school? Mitch
King Mo: I'm just takin' it a day at time. I'ma be hittin' wrestling school real soon.
Say Mo I see a star in this kid Adrien Broner man. I think he has all of the tools to be the first Adrien Broner. Don't get me wrong there is nothng wrong with being compared to "Money," but this kid can pave his own way. Just wanted to get your thoughts on "The Problem" and do you see anyone at 35 or 40 that can solve it? Meech
King Mo: I'm a big fan of The Problem. I think he won't be touched at 35 or 40. He's skilled, talented, and very confident. That's a good combo.
Ok, here is a good one for you, compile me an Olympic team of pro boxers from 130-heavyweight and of course it's for the USA. If possible pick a fighter and an alternate for each division and they have to be active fighters. Dying to see your list King. Thanks in advance. Fred
King Mo:
130 - Floyd Mayweather Jr
135 - Sweet Pea
140 - Aaron Pryor
147 - Sugar Ray Robinson
154 - Hitman Hearns
160 - Harry Greb/Haglar
168 - James Toney
175 - Archie Moore/Bob Foster/Roy Jones
200 - Holyfield/Dwight Muhammad Qawi
HWT - Ali/Johnson
Would you like to see someone like 50 Cent not necessarily start an organization, but somehow get into MMA? I guess what I'm asking is do you think it is a good thing to have 50 Cent in boxing? He seems to be serious with some of the moves he's making. Holla back Famo
King Mo: I think it's a great thang that 50 is in boxing. The more players in the game, the more options fighters have to make money.
