DANNY GARCIA:

"I'm always motivated, man, no matter who it is, because I want to stay undefeated. I want to be one of the best, so, you know, and I'm not where I want to be in life yet as far as financially and boxing and stuff like that, so I'm still hungry, man. I'm still hungry. I got a lot to win right now. I can't let nobody take it from me, so I'm always going to be hungry, man. I'm always going to be hungry...I'm training real hard and I think the only person who can beat me is if I cheat myself. That's the only way I could lose, but man, I'm doing everything so good right now and I'm motivated. The momentum for me is just going. I feel good, man. I'm just ready to go in there and win big," stated unified jr. welterweight champion Danny Garcia, who stopped by the FightHype Radio show to talk about his upcoming October 20 rematch with future Hall of Famer Erik Morales. Check out what else he had to say!

On his training...

Training's going good, man. Everything's going on schedule. You know, sparring's been great. I've been running every day. My weight is good. I'm just ready to fight already. I can't wait to get this over with.

I am getting bigger. I'm getting stronger. I'm building a lot of muscle. I think I got like one or two more fights at 140 before I go to 147.

On people using the surgery as an exuse for Morales in the first fight...

Man, I think everybody is always going to have an excuse when I beat 'em, but I don't know, man. Whatever makes him feel better. I want to know what's going to be the excuse this time.

Man, when I fought him, it was in Houston. That's like all Mexican fans. He picked the Winning gloves. I had to use his gloves. I picked his size ring. I mean, everything was towards him. I didn't pick nothing. And he was heavier than me, so if anything, he had all the advantages.

On being motivated to fight Morales again...

I'm always motivated, man, no matter who it is, because I want to stay undefeated. I'm always going to be hungry.

On how his life has changed since becoming a champion...

It changed. I notice a lot of people trying to tag on now and be a part of the crew and jump in the circle, but me and my dad, we don't play that. We know who our real people are and we just gonna stick to who we started with; that's who we gonna finish with, man, because we know a lot of people, they love you when you successful and then when you ain't successful no more, they don't even be around you no more. So, you know, I keep my circle tight and we just motivated and you just wanna keep winning. No distractions.

To me, fighting is the easiest thing. Fighting is like the easiest thing to me. I think the hardest thing about being an athlete is just your personal life and your outside life. If you can balance that with training, then you can be a great fighter.

More on October 20th...

It's going to be another great fight, man. It's a jam-packed card, man. I haven't seen a card with this much great fighters on it.

It's going to be a great night of boxing, man. As far as me and Morales, man, I'm training real hard and I think the only person who can beat me is if I cheat myself. That's the only way I could lose, but man, I'm doing everything so good right now and I'm motivated. The momentum for me is just going. I feel good, man. I'm just ready to go in there and win big.
