PAULIE MALIGNAGGI DISCUSSES RICKY HATTON'S RETURN AND PLAN B SHOULD HATTON LOSE

By Fernando Pimentel | November 09, 2012

"I don't really count interim championships as world championships, but, you know, the winner of the fight, yeah, is interesting. You know, not so much for a belt, because the belt, an interim title is meaningless. I wouldn't go out of my way for an interim title, but I would go out of my way to fight a top fighter and obviously the winner of that fight would be a top fighter you know. And of course, the welterweight division has got a lot of possibilities...you've got Bradley...guys like Maidana, you know, you got guys like Devon Alexander. Ortiz is still out with an injury...there's a lot of possibilities out there, you know. If Hatton doesn't win, you know, if Senchenko beats Hatton, he may come crying for a rematch too...we'll see what happens on the 24th," stated WBA welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi, who shared his thoughts on a number of upcoming fights, including Berto vs. Guerrero, Hatton vs. Senchenko, Mares vs. Moreno, Cotto vs. Trout, Garcia vs. Judah, and much more.
