Sources on location have informed us that undefeated pound-for-pound champion Floyd Mayweather was spotted working out at a boxing gym in Miami, Florida earlier today. The news comes fresh on the heels of Wednesday's announcement that Mayweather will indeed be returning to the ring against an opponent yet to be determined on May 4, 2013. Also spotted was undefeated middleweight contender J'Leon Love (14-0, 8 KOs), as well as prospects Lanell Bellows (3-0, 3 KOs) and Luis "Cuba" Arias (1-0), who all fight under the Mayweather Promotions/TMT Promotions banner.
While details of the workout are unclear, rumor has it that Mayweather wasn't just there to shake off some rust. In fact, according to one source, a sparring session actually took place, but that can neither be confirmed nor denied. For those of you trying to guess who Mayweather might be fighting in May, it should be noted that J'Leon Love, like Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, is an orthodox fighter, whereas Robert Guerrero is a southpaw. That being said, I wouldn't necessarily read to much into that fact. Regardless, the fact that Mayweather is getting back into the gym is a good sign that an official announcement about his next opponent is right around the corner.
