According to Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe, contrary to reports, undefeated pound-for-pound champion Floyd Mayweather has yet to make any decision on who he will be facing when he returns to the ring on May 4 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. "Contrary to the bullshit reports out there, Floyd has made no decision on who he is fighting. He's enjoying the holidays and spending time with his family. We're still looking at a number of opponents for May 4th," Ellerbe clarified.
Earlier today, reports surfaced stating that a deal was close to being finalized for Mayweather to defend his WBC welterweight title against mandatory challenger and interim titlist Robert Guerrero. According to Ellerbe, those reports are inaccurate and Mayweather is still considering several different names for his next opponent. "No decision has been made on who's going to win the Floyd Mayweather sweepstakes. Everyone wants to fight Floyd and he's looking at a number of different opponents he could possibly face," Ellerbe added.
