"Look out for Chad Dawson. That's all I gotta say," stated world-class trainer Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, who was coy on whether or not he would indeed be working with light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson. The two recently had breakfast together in Las Vegas, Nevada, where Muhammad resides and trains several other fighters. Though Muhammad did not reveal any details about what was discussed, he seemed eager to bring up Dawson's name during a recent interview.
Dawson is coming off of a disappointing 10th round TKO loss to undefeated super middleweight king Andre Ward in a bout that took place at Ward's natural weight of 168 pounds. Dawson hopes to rebound in March when he defends his title against the only other man to defeat him, Jean Pascal. In fact, his loss to Pascal was the last time that Dawson worked with Muhammad, deciding to part ways to work with world-class trainer John Scully instead. It looks like Dawson may now be considering yet another change in his corner as he tries to get his career back on track.
