"I'm still undefeated, I still plan on staying undefeated, and I'm still the best skilled heavyweight on the planet bar none. No one is even close to my skills. They are C- guys compared to my skills. They learning things now that I learned 10 years ago
People are finally waking up to my skill level. I'm more happy and pleased with that than anything. I'm still undefeated. I have never been close to being beat and I don't ever plan on being close to being beat. The only fights I want right now are the Klitschko Brothers, and if I can't get them, I'm looking for anybody that wants me," stated undefeated heavyweight contender Amir Mansour, who talked about his latest victory, his recent controversial Chad Dawson, and much more. Chek it out!
PC: You took the draw decision a lot better than I did. I'm tired of seeing inept judging in this sport. When the second scorecard was read in his favor, you kind of smiled. What was going through your mind?
MS: I kind of knew that when I looked around at the ring, I said, "It's an 11-inch ring, I just schooled this guys, and one guy had it for him?" I knew that I was in for one of them moments that's called unfair in boxing. But shit happens, man. It's happened to the greats. I believe I'm going to be one of the greats. People are finally waking up to my skill level. I'm more happy and pleased with that than anything. I'm still undefeated. I have never been close to being beat and I don't ever plan on being close to being beat. The only fights I want right now are the Klitschko Brothers, and if I can't get them, I'm looking for anybody that wants me.
PC: You seem to be taking this in stride, but at the end of the day, do you feel this sets you back any?
MS: It's all good because we in 2013 and we got TV's, we got fans, we got bloggers, and we got the Percy's of FightHype that always tell the truth and everybody calling it how they see it. As long as the people are realizing that Malik Scott is a force to be reckoned with, I'm cool with that. Like I said, I'm still undefeated, I still plan on staying undefeated, and I'm still the best skilled heavyweight on the planet bar none. No one is even close to my skills. They are C- guys compared to my skills. They learning things now that I learned 10 years ago. When I'm boxing I really mean this Percy, I'm not saying this just because it's me; I really believe that I'm teaching a lot of these heavyweights. If they hopped off of their pedestal of being overhyped, they can learn a lot off of me. I should be teaching a lot of these guys; if they shut up and just watch, they can learn so much off of me, man. But like I said, I'm still undefeated, Percy, and I'm the best heavyweight in the world and I believe that genuinely. I don't talk shit, I talk truth, man. I can't wait to fight again. I hope to fight Vitali Klitschko or Wladimir Klitschko, whichever one is available, and if I can't get them, I'm looking to fight anyone who is willing to sign a contract to fight me.
PC: I found it hilarious that Glazkov said after the fight that you were running. You are 6'5" and weighed in at 220-something and you were in a sandbox. Where were you gonna go in that tiny ring?
MS: How am I gonna run in that small ass ring. I'm 6'5 "and 230, but I'm running? He was overhyped, just like a majority of these heavyweights are overhyped. Percy, listen to me bruh, I'm telling you, it's just going to get worse and worse and worse every time I fight these dudes. When I say that, the people that are at home watching that are overhyped when I get my hands on them, I am going to embarrass them, that's gonna happen all the time. They were hyping this kid and Main Events was so big on this kid and they still big on him because I believe what I did to him the other night, I don't believe anybody can do that to him. I believe that happened because I'm special, my ability is rare in this division, and my reflexes are incredible. But I believe if anybody stands in front of this kid, he can clip 'em. But they just put him in with the wrong guy, which really is the right guy as far as me and my people are concerned as far as giving us the opportunity, but they just put him in with the wrong guy.
PC: And you told me that before the fight, so this just isn't you saying it since you dominated him. You truly believed this.
MS: That's what I was telling everybody. There is no way I would be 14-0 and fight Malik Scott, who is 35-0 and hungry. You know I'm itching for a motherfucker to sign a contract to fight me. And y'all gonna put this C- dude up against me? You should have seen Main Events face after the fight. Jolene looked like her period was on and it was dripping at the time of the fight and she couldn't even get to a Maxi Pad by the way that she was looking. They didn't even let me wear the gloves that I wanted. I had Rival Boxing Gear Gloves because that's my guy. Shout out to him, Russ Anber, that's my brother, man. They didn't even let me wear my gloves. They were complaining about my gloves. They didn't even have no tickets for my family to get into the fight. My people still got into the fight. They put me in the smallest ring in the world and I still beat the shit out of their fighter in the smallest ring in the world. They hyped this dude up and I believe it was a bunch of bullshit, man. It's an unfair thing and it's what's wrong with boxing, but one thing I can say, Percy, is I love my job so much still. Believe it or not, it's the shit like that that still keeps boxing on the edge, keep things exciting, and still calls for exciting fights. I believe Glazkov learned a lot from me in that fight and I think he still has a bright future, but I believe when it comes to me, a lot of these guys are outclassed and overmatched. And if Wladimir or Vitali would get in there with Malik Scott, I believe I would do the same thing to them and it would be worse.
PC: They would take more chances because they have high skillsets as well.
PC: I don't know what your game plan going into the fight was, but you were able to do any and everything that you wanted to do in there.
MS: Yeah, definitely, and it was all off of the educated left hand that I got. Everything came off of the left jab. This dude was going for all of my feints. I was digging to his body real good, Mike McCallum style. I was bringing the jab to the body, the left hook to the body, and sometimes I would give him my Superman punch and bring it all the way around to damn near his back; his right rib cage. It was science man it was science.
PC: You didn't appear to suffer any damage at all during the fight as you pointed out in your post-fight interview. How soon are you looking to get back in there?
MS: Next week. If I could fight in 48 hours, I would fight in 48 hours Perc; you know I be on my Ibuprofen because obviously I put in a tough campaign, the fight did go the distance, and I let the kid show me a little puppy love on my arms and he got a few body shots in and shit like that; that little puppy love shit that they were hyping, saying that he's a strong puncher when I come from the cloth of boxing Lennox Lewis. And they talking about this kid is a puncher. Hey Percy, listen, 15 guys turned this kid down; 15 guys, so that goes to show that majority of the heavyweights, their heart is the size of a watermelon seed, for real for real. And the most underrated thing about me is my heart because I got one of the biggest hearts in the world that God ever created, because I will fight anybody, anywhere, at any time. I don't glorify human beings. I don't believe in that. There is only one heavyweight who I feel is the best in the world and that's myself, and I'm not just saying that because it's me. That was an appetizer that I gave him the other day. That was the appetizer. I'm about to start giving them full course meals every time out now. So yeah, man, the best is yet to come. That was 30 to 40% of me, bro, and I was supposed to get stopped.
PC: It definitely seems like they woke a sleeping giant, because like I said, when that scorecard was read in his favor, you had a smirk on your face like, "I see what I have to start doing to these dudes now."
MS: Yeah, definitely. I'm always gonna stay in my game and use my God-given ability, but I see a lot of things that I can work on and add to my arsenal. I'm just working hard every day, man, and being a more and more complete fighter. The goal is to be heavyweight champion of the world. I believe I'm getting closer and closer to that goal. After my layoff, that was my third or fourth fight back right there and I put on a helluva performance against a good fighter. Don't get it fucked up! Glazkov can fight, he just was out of his league. Everybody is saying this kid can't fight now. No, he can fight. He just was out of his league. Shane Mosley can fight. He just was out of his league when he fought Floyd. Juan Manuel Marquez knocked Pacquiao out and Floyd had a ball with him. He just was out of his league. Lennox Lewis used to beat the shit out of me. I learned from that, but I was out of my league. And that's just gonna happen in the case of the majority of these heavyweights and when it comes to Malik Scott. I'm out of their league, bro, I swear on everything, Percy, they can't fuck with me, man.
PC: You know the slogan: great fighters make good fighters look average.
MS: Hell yeah, man, and I plan on doing that a whole lot around these parts.
PC: It was unfortunate man, but at least your record is still intact in the L column. I guess it could have been a lot worse. Best of luck on your quest to capture that heavyweight title
MS: (Cutting in) Yeah, I want to say one thing, Perc. I want to say one thing, man. Shout out, man, to King Mo. He reached out to me on Twitter. I wish him all of the luck in the world and tell him anything he ever need from me, he can call my number. I'm happy Amir Mansour is home. I believe he is going to create a lot of havoc. I'm happy he is not locked up no more because he is extremely talented and he's a heavyweight to definitely be reckoned with and I just got love for both of them dudes. You make sure you let them know that I feel like that; it's all love. Perc, anything you need, hit me, man, immediately.
