"I would fight Tyson Fury for free," stated undefeated heavyweight knockout artist Amir Mansour, who was ringside for Tyson Fury's 7th round knockout victory over Steve Cunningham. Mansour, who recently disposed of Jason Gavern in one round while suffering from a separated shoulder (incurred in an auto accident), was not impressed with the 6'9" Brit, to say the least. "He's slow as hell. If I don't knock him out or make him quit, he can have the decision," he commented after witnessing the performance.
Although Fury had a lot to say before and after his fight with Cunningham, he was quick to avoid any face to face confrontation with Mansour's fellow Philadelphia fighters Bryant Jennings and Jesse Hart, who were both shouting, "Amir will knock you out," shortly after the fight. Fury improved to 21-0 with 15 knockouts with his KO win over Cunningham, while Mansour improved to 18-0 with 14 knockouts with his win over Gavern. Although Cunningham is a very tough and durable opponent, I don't think he was ever considered a natural heavyweight given his size. Let's hope Fury will face a legitimate heavyweight in his next bout, whether it be Mansour or someone else.
