"He said he been calling me out for a year. I really don't know him; only from the couple clips that I've seen. But just for starters, he's a flat-footed fighter. You know, me, myself, I'm a winner. I know how to win. You know, come fight night, I'm always able to expose any fighter's weakness. We the Ghostbusters...From what I see, he's just a very, very dirty fighter. There's nothing sharp about his fight game, but he's here, he's the guy that's in front of me, so we'll just see what he brings to the table come May 4th," stated undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather on the latest episode of All Access: Mayweather vs. Guerrero, Showtime's all-access reality series following WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather and mandatory challenger Robert Guerrero as they prepare for their May 4 Cinco de Mayo showdown at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Episode 3 was not short on quotes from both fighters, so check out what else Mayweather had to say!
On Robert Guerrero...
This is a religious guy, you know, but he had Marilyn Monroe on his wall in his house. He be contradicting himself. Big-time hypocrite. He preaching how he's supposed to be a role model, talking about me, but this kid is fucking people's lawns up with a dusty ass truck.
He said he been calling me out for a year. I really don't know him; only from the couple clips that I've seen. But just for starters, he's a flat-footed fighter. You know, me, myself, I'm a winner. I know how to win. You know, come fight night, I'm always able to expose any fighter's weakness. We the Ghostbusters.
On his team...
I have to take my hat off to the people that help Floyd Mayweather on a daily basis.
I've surrounded myself with the right people, I have the right team, and we have a lot of talent.
We have a lot of smart, sharp, dedicated and loyal people that's with the company.
You gotta have a Mexican [Rafael Garcia] in your camp.
I've been friends with Nate Jones for 20 years. You know, Nates Jones will be one of the best trainers out there in the future. He's up and coming.
On the opportunity that opponents get when they face him...
This is his biggest payday. Everybody that's faced Floyd Mayweather has a name now. You know, Ortiz, he's able to do Dancing With The Stars now from that, so it's a good thing.
People don't understand, it takes a lot of hard work inside the ring, but you gotta work double outside the ring for a pay-per-view event, and be at your best.
On working with his dad and uncle...
The media is constantly trying to stir up problems between my dad and my uncle. They're brothers. You know, my dad, that's his younger brother. There's nothing like family. You heard my dad say that in the past. You heard my uncle Roger say that in the past. You know, family is very, very important and I don't want my dad and my uncle Roger to have any problems. Both are two great human beings, two great trainer; we all looking for the same thing, you know, victory on May 4th.
My dad, he's one of the best trainers in the world, so, and of course, working with my dad and Roger, you can't go wrong. If you working with both of them, that's even better. Our chemistry is great. I'm ready to win.
Shantel Jackson on her relationship with Mayweather...
Let me set things straight with our relationship. It's definitely not an open relationship. Floyd and I have a mutual understanding with each other and a certain respect level, so at the end of the day, it's only what we care about with each other, and what everybody else thinks doesn't matter.
Strip clubs, masseuse, girls around, friends, it doesn't matter. It's just a part of letting him be him.
Even though he's Floyd Mayweather and I'm Ms. Jackson, at the end of the day, we're still just two regular people in a relationship.
Floyd loves to play and joke, I love to play and joke, and I think together, we're like two little kids sometimes.
Mayweather on his relationship with Shantel Jackson...
No relationship is perfect. You know, I'm not perfect, she's not perfect, we bump heads a lot, but when it's all said and done, I love her and she loves me.
On how training camp has gone...
Camp has worked out tremendous. Everything is playing out like it should play out. We got trainer #1 and trainer #2, but they both are the best trainers in the world.
Everybody mentality is not the same. My mentality, I didn't wanna just be the best fighter. I wanted to be the best athlete, period.
I brought my dad back to camp because that was the best thing for my career. He's here to fix any problems that I had, you know, from the Cotto fight, so things will be better come May 4th.
On his last performance...
Miguel Cotto, it was a very interesting fight, but I wasn't pleased. I give myself a D+ probably for that last performance. I got hit with some shots that I shouldn't have got hit with. I lost a couple of rounds that I feel I shouldn't have lost, but I'm better than that. When it's all said and done, I'm a better fighter than the fighter that faced Cotto.
My dad, he's been upset with me lately, saying that with my last 6 fights, he don't want me to take any punishment, so I need to tighten up with my defense. And I told him he's right. But the next 30 months, my dad is the man for my career.
My dad just, that's who I started with, that's who I want to finish with.
More on Guerrero...
From what I see, he's just a very, very dirty fighter. There's nothing sharp about his fight game, but he's here, he's the guy that's in front of me, so we'll just see what he brings to the table come May 4th.
