Moments ago, undefeated former featherweight champion Mikey Garcia demolished former champion Juan Manuel Lopez, stopping him in the 4th round of a one-sided affair at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. It didn't take long for Garcia to find a home for his punches, dropping Lopez with a picture perfect right hand in the 2nd round. After that, it was target practice for Garcia, who continued to land nothing but head shots.
In the 4th round, Garcia let loose with a series of punches before landing a left hook that put Lopez down for the second time. Although he made it back to his feet, it was clear that Lopez was unable to continue, prompting the referee to call a halt to the onslaught. Although Garcia remains undefeated with the win, he lost his WBO featherweight title when he failed to make the 126-pound weight limit at yesterday's weigh-in.
