"By no mean, no way, do we condone those kinds of things and we took drastic actions internally," stated Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe, who revealed today that all Mayweather Promotions fighters will be participating in year-round random blood and urine testing. While speaking to a select group of media members at today's press conference in New York, Ellerbe made the announcement shortly after fielding questions about the failed drug tests of J'Leon Love and Mickey Bey.
"No way that myself or Floyd condone these kind of things. Floyd has been a great example being the face of the sport and being a pioneer when it comes to these kinds of things. Internally, we put in some measures that are in place where we're going to make all our fighters go through random blood and urine 365, 24/7," Ellerbe commented while explaining that the United States Anti-Doping Agency [USADA] would be handling the testing. "Like I said, these are the kinds of things that are unacceptable however they come about. And Floyd will continue to lead the way and continue to educate the fighters in any way he can. So, you know, those are the measures we put in place internally."
