"While the Khan's are BSing, we over here putting in work," stated world-class trainer Kevin Cunningham, who is still waiting to hear word on whether or not his fighter, IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander, will indeed be defending his title against former jr. welterweight champion Amir Khan. For whatever reason, the potential matchup between the two fighters still hasn't been finalized, despite the fact that Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer essentially announced that it would be taking place on December 7 at the Barclays Center during the Mayweather vs. Canelo weigh-in. Though contracts have yet to be drawn up, Cunningham made it clear to Team Khan that any road to Floyd Mayweather must first go through Devon Alexander.
"Their arrogant ass wishing they could go straight to Floyd without having to deal with Devon," Cunningham explained, making note of the fact that Team Khan has been reluctant to finalize details of their proposed bout. "A true champion would take advantage of an opportunity to fight one of the best welterweights and win a world title en route to challenging the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, but it seems like the Khans would rather go straight to Floyd to cash out, but who wants to see that? That shit ain't gonna happen!"
