SHANE MOSLEY TARGETS CARLOS MOLINA: "HE BEAT THE SWEET'N LOW...BUT NOW HE CAN FIGHT THE REAL SUGAR"

SHANE MOSLEY TARGETS CARLOS MOLINA:

"I'm not looking to fight Adrien Broner and all them other guys. Let the kids have their day. I'm trying to fight the older guys like me. I'm in shape, I'm strong, and I'm ready to go. Molina fought Sweet'N Low, Splenda, or whatever you want to call him for the belt. I'm coming off a win, so like I said, let's get it poppin. He beat the Sweet'N Low for the title, but now he can fight the real Sugar. I can go ahead get that belt from Molina, me and Cotto can fight for the belt, then after I beat Cotto up, me and Mayweather. It's definitely unfinished business with Cotto because I really won that fight. I want to get Cotto and Mayweather too," stated multi-division world champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley, who talked about his future plans now that his fight with Anthony Mundine has fallen through. Check it out!

BT: A fight between Victor Ortiz and IBF jr. middleweight champion Carlos Molina was supposed to take place on December 14 as the co-main event on Adrien Broner's pay-per-view card, but it looks like it probably won't happen now since the IBF won't sanction the fight. Has Richard Schaefer or anyone else from Golden Boy talked to you about maybe stepping into that slot to face either fighter?

SM: No they haven't, but I could beat up Carlos Molina real quick.

BT: I'm guessing that they'd prefer to put you in with Victor Ortiz since he's the Golden Boy fighter and they don't have Carlos Molina.

SM: Uh, nah, I don't want to fight Victor. I'll fight Carlos Molina though. I'll fight for the belt because it means something. The only reason why I was doing that with Anthony Mundine was because they were giving me $1 million. If I'm just fighting for a couple hundred thousand, I don't want to fight Victor Ortiz. I'd fight Carlos Molina for the belt though because that makes more sense. I can definitely do that. Ortiz is a small 54-pounder anyway. Molina is right-handed, he's about my height; that's a great matchup.

BT: True, true. I guess they could still have Molina fighting on the card even though he's not a Golden Boy fighter. I would think Richard might prefer to line you up as a future challenger for Adrien Broner though.

SM: No, I don't want to fight him. I want to be a future challenger for Floyd Mayweather, not Adrien Broner. Let the kids fight with each other. Let the little brothers, Danny Garcia, Adrien Broner and all of them, fight each other. I want to fight Mayweather, Pacquiao, Timothy, and we can start with Carlos Molina. That would be perfect; go ahead and get the belt. Once I get the belt, then I go ahead and fight the other guys.

BT: Honestly, the fight I'd like to see you get is a long overdue rematch with...

SM: (Cutting in) Cotto!

BT: Yeah. Did you see his fight with Delvin Rodriguez?

SM: Yeah, Cotto looked good too. He looked pretty good. I mean, Delvin didn't really fight him, but I thought Cotto looked pretty good. He started bouncing a little bit more and got the knockout. It would be a good setup for me to go ahead and get that belt from Carlos Molina, then we can fight Cotto and then we can go to Mayweather. That's what I'm looking to do. I'm not looking to fight Adrien Broner and all them other guys. Let the kids have their day. I'm trying to fight the older guys like me. I'm in shape, I'm strong, and I'm ready to go. Molina fought Sweet'N Low, Splenda, or whatever you want to call him [Ishe "Sugar Shay" Smith] for the belt. I want to get Cotto and Mayweather too. I had him rocked, so I want Mayweather as well as Cotto. I'm going to go ahead and beat Molina, get the belt, and then let's go! Let's get this on!
