UFC 168 RESULTS: CHRIS WEIDMAN RETAINS TITLE AFTER ANDERSON SILVA BREAKS LEG IN 2ND ROUND

Moments ago at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman was on his way to proving that his title-winning performance was no fluke, after dominating former champion Anderson Silva in the first round of their highly-anticipated rematch at UFC 168. Just as the action was getting started in the second round, however, Silva broke his left leg after Weidman checked a kick, prompting the referee to immediately call a halt to the fight. Relive all the action, including Ronda Rousey's submission victory in her rematch with Miesha Tate, in FightHype's round-by-round results.

CHRIS WEIDMAN VS. ANDERSON SILVA 2

ROUND 1
Silva keeping his hands up high. Weidman tries a fron kick. Weidman gets a single leg and gets the takedown. Silva works his way back up to his feet though. Hard knee against the cage lands for Silva. Weidman still working for the takedown. They trade knees. Weidman lands a big shot and Silva is hurt. Silva is on the ground and Weidman rains down some shots. Silva tries to hold him close. Weidman just misses with some big shots. They trade some shots. Weidman trying to soften him up and lands an elbow. Some more elbows land for Weidman. Silva locks in a body triangle. Another big elbow lands for Weidman. Silva fires some elbows from teh bottom. Weidman lands some more shots. Silva answers with some hammerfists. Both men raking each other with elbows. Weidman backs off of him and then gets in another right. End of round, won by Weidman.

ROUND 2
Leg kick lands for Silva. Weidman backs him up. Hard body shot lands for Weidman. Silva fires a leg kick...OOOOOHHHHH...SILVA JUST BROKE HIS LEG. Weidman checked Silva leg kick and you could immediately see Silva leg snaps in two. Nasty!!! The ref immediately calls a halt to the fight.

RONDA ROUSEY VS. MIESHA TATE 2

ROUND 1
Both girls come out swinging. Rousey quickly drags Tate to the ground, but Tate works her way back to her feet. Rousey lands some knees against the cage. Nice front kick lands for Rousey. Tate tries to answers, but slips to the ground. Rousey rains some shots down. Tate reverses and takes Rousey down. Rousey has Tate in the guard. Rouses working for a triangle. Tate escapes and they're back to their feet. They trade some good shots. 1-2 lands for Tate. Rousey takes her down. Tate reverses and makes it back to her feet. Now Tate shoots for a takedown, but Rousey reverses it. Rousey lets back her up. Right hand lands for Tate. Rousey working for the takedown. They wrestle against the cage. Rousey lands some more shots to end the round. Round to Rousey, but Tate is game and still in this fight.

ROUND 2
Short right lands for Tate. Rousey trips her to the ground. Tate looking to land some up-kicks and lands a couple. Tate tries for a takedown again, but Rousey reverses it. Rousey lets her back up. Short left hook lands for Tate. Rousey takes her back down. Rousey lands some punches against the cage. They wrestle for position. Rousey continues to land punches in the clinch. They trade knees. Easy judo toss for Rousey gets Tate back on the ground. Tate just misses with a wild submission. Rousey mounts her and rains down some shots. Rousey has an arm, but Tate escapes. Rousey lands some shots to the face of Tate. Rousey works for another triangle. Somehow Tate is still surviving. Round to Rousey.

ROUND 3
Rousey bulls forward and pushes Tate to the cage. Rousey working for a takedown and gets it. Rousey has an arm...that's it. She locks in the armbar and forces Tate to tap.
