"Hey, I want what the fans want. I want Floyd here in New York. Bring Floyd here to New York. He stays in Vegas. I'm tired of going to Vegas. I would love for him to come here in NYC, here in Brooklyn at the Barclays. Floyd, if you watching, let's make it happen, man," stated former welterweight champion Luis Collazo, who made it crystal clear that he wants his shot at undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd "Money" Mayweather. Fresh off of a 2nd round knockout of former welterweight champion Victor Ortiz, Collazo wasted no time in throwing his name into the Mayweather Sweepstakes.
Although Collazo may be a little too late to be Mayweather's opponent for his anticipated May 3 return to the ring, he certainly made a statement with his knockout of Ortiz. Serving notice to the rest of the welterweight division, the former champion is certainly in the mix to face any of the top names in the division. Though he previously fell short on the big stage against the likes of Ricky Hatton, Shane Mosley, and Andre Berto, his performance tonight proved that he still deserves another opportunity.
