Though he's not getting an opportunity to face undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd "Money" Mayweather in May, that isn't stopping former jr. welterweight champion Amir Khan from trying to line up a potential showdown with him in the near future. Recently, Khan took to Twitter to throw down the gauntlet, offering to fight Mayweather's self-proclaimed "little brother" Adrien Broner on the May 3 undercard of the highly-anticipated Mayweather vs. Maidana event.
"@FloydMayweather, tell @AdrienBroner to fight me on your card and when I beat him, you fight me next," wrote Khan, who clearly has no problems with earning the opportunity to face Mayweather by duplicating the same steps that seemingly got Maidana his opportunity. While it's unclear if Mayweather himself likes the idea, sources have informed us that Broner has already been tapped to make his return to the ring on the May 3 undercard. We're told that former welterweight champion Luis Collazo was being considered as Broner's opponent, however, most fans would agree that a potential Broner vs. Khan clash sounds much more appealing.
