"I went in my backpack and got $20,000 cash and told him, 'If the fight don't go the distance, I'll give you an extra $20,000,' and of course I'm a man of my word," stated promoter Floyd "Money" Mayweather, who revealed that his fighter, undefeated super middleweight contender J'Leon Love, earned himself a $20,000 bonus for stopping Vladine Biosse in the 10th round during the main event of Friday's ShoBox: The New Generation.
"He gave me a look basically telling me this fight is not going the distance, so he did what he was supposed to do and I'm proud of him," Mayweather explained during a recent conversation with FightHype.com. Though it was only Love's second fight in the 168-pound division, some would say it was the best performace of his career, proving that he has indeed graduated from the ShoBox circuit and is now ready to step up to the championship level.
