The signings just keep coming and coming. Over the weekend, undefeated super featherweight contender Rances Barthelemy also signed with influential advisor Al Haymon. Barthelemy joins IBF jr. welterweight champion Lamont Peterson, former welterweight champion Luis Collazo, light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson, and former light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson as the newest additions to Haymon's rapidly growing stable of fighters, which already includes Floyd Mayweather, Danny Garcia, Adrien Broner, Marcos Maidana, Lucas Matthysse, Devon Alexander, Peter Quillin, Leo Santa Cruz, Gary Russell Jr., Austin Trout, Erislandy Lara, Andre Berto, Sakio Bika, Chris Arreola, Deontay Wilder, and Edwin Rodriguez, just to name a few.
Barthelemey is coming off of a career-defining performance that saw him capture the IBF title with a 2nd-round knockout of former champion Argenis Mendez. Unfortunately for Barthelemey, that result was changed to a no-contest after the team of Mendez successfully filed an appeal complaining that the knockout blow came after the bell. Although Mendez was allowed to retain his title, the IBF ordered an immediate rematch, though no official plans have been set.
