Former jr. welterweight champion Amir Khan has officially signed with influential adviser Al Haymon. Khan joins multi-division world champion Robert Guerrero, IBF jr. welterweight champion Lamont Peterson, and former welterweight champion Luis Collazo as the newest additions to Haymon's rapidly growing stable of fighters, which already includes Floyd Mayweather, Danny Garcia, Adrien Broner, Marcos Maidana, Lucas Matthysse, Devon Alexander, Peter Quillin, Leo Santa Cruz, Gary Russell Jr., Austin Trout, Erislandy Lara, Andre Berto, Sakio Bika, Chris Arreola, Deontay Wilder, and Edwin Rodriguez, just to name a few.
Khan is coming off of a winning, albeit a lackluster performance against former lightweight champion Julio Diaz, who dropped him in the fourth round of a fight that took place nearly a year ago. After sitting on the sidelines to no avail in hopes of securing a lucrative payday with undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd "Money" Mayweather, Khan is now looking to move forward with his career. His next opponent will be former welterweight champion and fellow Haymon stablemate Luis Collazo, who he'll face on the May 3 undercard of Mayweather vs. Maidana.
