"Sparring with Manny Pacquiao, I mean, there's no better blueprint than that. The guy's got the quickest hands and feet in the business. So I have all the experience in what it takes to beat Paulie, and it's just a matter of getting in there April 19 and doing it," stated IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter, who talked about the game plan for his upcoming clash with former welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi. As far as Porter is concerned, although it will be the first world title defense of his career, he already has the necessary experience to deal with anything that Malignaggi can bring to the table.
"I've always been taught to be hungry, be aggressive, and not to allow someone to get comfortable in the ring, and that's going to always be my mentality against whoever it is I'm going to be fighting," Porter explained during a recent conference call, recalling the success he had in winning the title against former champion Devon Alexander. "Same goes with Paulie. I know he's fast and he has good feet and he knows how to move around the ring, so my plan is to cut him off and be really aggressive and get to his body and make it uncomfortable for him for 12 rounds or less."
