JULIAN WILLIAMS: "IF ISHE SMITH NEEDS A DANCE PARTNER, I'M AVAILABLE"

JULIAN WILLIAMS:

Earlier today, it was reported that WBA jr. middleweight champion Erislandy Lara had pulled out of his scheduled May 2 title defense against former jr. middleweight champion Ishe Smith to instead face former jr. middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on July 12. Upon hearing the news, rising jr. middleweight prospect Julian "J-Rock" Williams immediately contacted his trainer, Stephen "Breadman" Edwards, to inform him that he's more than willing to replace Lara as Smith's next opponent.

"If Ishe Smith needs a dance partner, I'm available. Call Al and tell him let's do it. The best soldiers are volunteers," Williams stated. It's a fight that Edwards likes for his young gun. "It's a good fight. Ishe is a tough veteran. Julian don't turn nothing down but his collar. If they are willing to give us the opportunity, we'll take the fight," Edwards commented.

Williams was originally scheduled to fight on May 16th, but that fight has been postponed.
