"We brought the weight up a little bit and put on a little more muscle. I think actually he might be taller, but I think we're going to be much stronger on the inside, much more physical on the inside than he is, and we're going to push him around with no problem," stated Freddie Roach, Hall of Fame trainer of three-division world champion Miguel Cotto, who spoke to the media during a conference call to promote the upcoming June 7 showdown with middleweight king Sergio Martinez.
As far as Roach is concerned, although Cotto is the one moving up in weight, he will not have to worry about being the naturally smaller man when he's exchanging with Martinez in close quarters. "I think inside, we're the bigger, stronger person," Roach explained. "We're going into the fight thinking he's going to be the best he can be and that's what he should be. I mean, it sounds like he's already making excuses, but the thing is we expect him at this best and we're going to beat him at his best."
