MANAGER CONFIRMS MAIDANA NO LONGER WORKING WITH ALEX ARIZA:

"Ariza will not work with either Marcos Maidana nor WBA Interim Featherweight champion Jesus Cuellar," stated Sebastian Contursi, manager of former WBA welterweight champion Marcos Maidana, who confirmed that world-class Strength & Conditioning Coach Alex Ariza will not be working with any of his fighters. Maidana's trainer, Robert Garcia, recently revealed the news that he was parting ways with Ariza just one month after the team had one of their best performances after a spirited majority decision loss to undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd "Money" Mayweather.

According to Contursi, the team had some "differences" with Ariza, which likely motivated Garcia to cut ties between Ariza and all of his fighters. "Speaking exclusively on behalf of both Team Maidana and Team Cuellar, I can say that we had some differences with Ariza, but we wish him all the best," Contursi added.
