Moments ago at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, featherweight Vasyl Lomachenko capture his first world title in only his third professional fight, defeating previously undefeated contender Gary Russell Jr. via unanimous decision. Despite having 22 fewer fights, it was Lomachenko that looked like the seasoned veteran in the ring, doing a great job of mixing, breaking Russell Jr. down with solid body shots while landing the crisper shots.
