"Danny Garcia is coming back in August at the Barclays Center," stated Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya, who recently revealed that unified WBC & WBA jr. welterweight champion Danny Garcia will be making his return to the ring on August 9 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. De La Hoya made the announcement during the latest edition of Showtime Championship Boxing. It was later revealed that IBF jr. welterweight champion Lamont Peterson will also be appearing on the card in a separate bout.
Though no opponents were specified, sources have informed us that Garcia will likely be in a "tune-up" bout, facing an opponent like Rod Salka. It's unclear who Peterson will face, however, there are rumblings on the internet that former two-division world champion Zab Judah could get the assignment. The winners of both bouts could later be in line for a jr. welterweight title unification. Also on the card will be middleweight contender Danny Jacobs, who will be taking on Jarrod Fletcher for the WBA middleweight title.
BE SURE TO CHECK BACK SOON FOR MORE DETAILS ON THE CARD
