According to his latest social media post, three-division world champion Adrien Broner expects to make his return to the ring on September 6, just one week prior to Floyd Mayweather's anticipated September 13 rematch with Marcos Maidana (assuming, of course, that the fight is indeed finalized). "After a long day of hard work a hot bubble bath is needed #september6 #TheReturnOfAdrienBroner," Broner wrote on Twitter.
Though no official details about an opponent or venue have been released, we're told a card that's currently being put together for that particular date could end up at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, which adds fuel to the rumors that former two-division world champion and Brooklyn native Zab Judah could land the assignment to face Broner. FightHype.com also recently learned that the return of former welterweight champion Andre Berto is also being targeted for September 6. Be sure to check back soon for more information.
