It will be the main event, and it will be five rounds," stated UFC President Dana White, who recently confirmed that former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva will make his highly-anticipated return to the Octagon against former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz. White made the announcement earlier today on SportCenter.
Silva was recently cleared for sparring by his doctor after having successful surgery to repair the broken leg he suffered last December against Chris Weidman at UFC 168. The 5-round showdown will headline UFC 183, which will take place during Super Bowl weekend. Diaz hasn't fought since announcing his retirement after suffering a unanimous decision loss to then UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre back in March of 2013.
