According to a recent press release, super middleweight contenders J'Leon Love and Badou jack will headline a Mayweather Promotions card on August 30. The event will take place at The Pearl at The Palms Resort & Casino Las Vegas. Though their opponents have yet to be determined, Love will be fighting in the main event, while Jack will be featured in the co-main event.
The event was originally thought to be headlined by a lightweight title clash between IBF champion Miguel Vazquez and challenger Mickey Bey, however, it's looking more and more like that bout is either no longer taking place or it has indeed been moved to a different date, presumably the undercard of the September 13 rematch between undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather and former welterweight champion Marcos Maidana.
Fans can likely expect the majority of the Mayweather Promotions fighters to also be featured on the August 30 card since many of them are already deep into training camp. One should not be surprised to see potential appearances by Chris Pearson, Luis Arias, Lanell Bellows, Andrew Tabiti, Ronald Gavril, Ashley Theophane or Ladarius Miller. Those that are not fighting on that date will probably also find themselves on the September 13 undercard. Check out an excerpt from the press release below:
