"Extremely close; extremely close. I'm not biased, so my honest opinion, it could've went either way," stated undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather, who shared his thoughts on the title-winning performance of his newest world champion, Mickey Bey. Fighting on the undercard of Mayweather vs. Maidana 2, Bey won a split decision victory over former IBF lightweight champion Miguel Vazquez. After watching the fight in his dressing room as he prepared for his rematch with Marcos Maidana, Mayweather admitted that it was an extremely close fight, despite the fact that one of the judges gave nearly every round to Bey.
"119-109, that's ridiculous. If the guy [Miguel Vazquez] would've won, I couldn't have been upset, but I thank God that we got the victory. It could've gone either way," Mayweather said during a recent conversation with FightHype.com. "There's nothing I can do. I just look at it like Forrest Gump. Life is like a box of chocolates and you never know what you're going to get," he added when asked what could be done regarding a recent string of questionable scorecards from judges.
