Newly crowned IBF lightweight champion Mickey Bey will have to wait a little while before he gets a chance to make his first title defense. On Friday, October 10, Bey will undergo surgery on his right hand, which he injured during his 12-round unanimous decision win against long-reigning champion Miguel Vazquez.
After the surgery, Bey will be sidelined for 6-8 weeks before he's able to return to training.
