Moments ago at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, interim WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman kept his undefeated record intact, although he had a much more difficult time than expected against game challenger Leonard Bundu. Although Thurman scored an early knockdown in the first round, Bundu quickly shook it off and was able to confuse the champion at times as he switched stances and fired off combinations.
By the middle rounds, it was Thurman who was backpedaling, looking to land one big shot while Bundu pressed forward trying to land multiple shots. When the fight was over, the fans voiced their displeasure in the lack of action with a chorus of boos. In the end, all three judges scored the bout 120-107 in favor of Thurman. The crowd continued to boo once the scorecards were read.
