Sources close to the information have informed us that IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook will be making the first defense of his title against mandatory challenger Jo Jo Dan on March 28 at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, England. Brook and his promoter, Eddie Hearn, will be holding a press conference on Thursday to officially make the announcement.
Brook, who last fought in August of 2014 when he scored a majority decision victory over former champion Shawn Porter to capture the title, is returning to the ring after recovering from a serious leg injury after being stabbed while on vacation. Dan, on the other hand, is fresh off a split decision victory over Kevin Bizier in a rematch that took place just last month. Tickets for the fight will go on sale midday tomorrow to Matchroom Fight Pass members and then on general sale midday on Friday, January 23.
