FightHype.com has confirmed that four-division world champion Miguel Cotto will become the second high-profile name to officially announce his signing with Roc Nation Sports. The reigning WBC middleweight champion is expected to reveal the news during a Thursday morning appearance on ESPN First Take before hosting a luncheon with select members of the media in New York.
Cotto is following in the footsteps of undefeated super middleweight king Andre Ward, who also recently announced his signing with the Jay-Z owned company earlier this year. The move has left a sour taste in the mouth of Top Rank President Todd duBoef, who has a close relationship with the Puerto Rican star and was hoping to match him against two-division former world champion Timothy Bradley in early June. Cotto's signing with Roc Nation could now impact those plans. It's unclear at this point exactly who Cotto might be facing in the near future, but we're hoping tomorrow's luncheon will answer that question.
