Moments ago at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, England, undefeated IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook made the first successful defense of his title, easily stopping mandatory challenger Jo Jo Dan after four rounds of domination. It didn't take long for Brook to find a home for his right hand, landing a clean shot in the first round that clearly got the attention of Dan. Despite Dan's awkward style, Brook couldn't miss with his punches.
A right hand rocked Dan early in the second round before a follow-up right uppercut dropped him for the first time of the fight. Brook wasted no time in jumping on him, landing another right hand that sent Dan to the canvas for the second time. Although he beat the count, it was clear that Dan was on unsteady legs. Brook came in and continuted to land right hands that had Dan on shaky legs. Somehow, however, Dan was able to survive the round.
Brook continued to land his right hand with ease in the third round as he battered Dan around the ring. That trend continued in the fourth as Brook began to really let his hands go. Again, Dan would go down after a flurry of punches from Brook. Although he beat the count, he was sent to the canvas once more by a well-timed left hook right at the bell. Though Dan would beat the count again, his corner had seen enough and called a halt to the fight in between rounds.
