"I'm Coming Home!! June 20th in Oakland, Cali. Details to follow," wrote undefeated super middleweight king Andre Ward, who recently took to his Twitter and Instagram accounts to announce his long-awaited return to the ring. Although an opponent has yet to be named, it appears Ward's first fight under the Roc Nation Sports banner will take place on June 20 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.
Due to legal issues with his former promoter, Ward has been inactive since his last bout, a lopsided unanimous decision victory over Edwin Rodriguez back in November of 2013. The former Olympic gold medalist and unified super middleweight champion has stayed in the gym, however, with the goal of reclaiming his status as the best 168-pound fighter in the world. The last time Ward fought in his hometown of Oakland, California, he scored an impressive 10th round stoppage of former light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson.
