"I mean, I'd love that fight. Even now, I'd take that fight. End of May, I'm happy to take the Broner fight, but I've heard from people that Broner's team don't want the fight. Broner might want it on social media, but that's different. I've said it repeatedly; look, I want it. You've not heard Broner saying that he wants to fight. He's only said it on social media," stated former world champion Amir Khan, who made it clear that he would love to face three-division former world champion Adrien Broner. Unfortunately, after a recent FaceTime conversation with Broner, Khan is convinced that Broner isn't really interested in making the fight a reality.
"A mutual friend of mine was with him and I said to my friend, 'Give him the phone.' He was in Miami, so my friend gave him the phone and he said, 'Look, Amir wants the fight. He wants to talk to you about it.' So he goes, 'Yeah, yo, what's going on?' He was respectful on the phone," Khan explained during a recent conversation with FightHype.com. "He said, 'How's it going, Champ?' I said, 'Look, let's get the fight done.' He said, 'Bro, you're at 147. I can't come up to 147. Can you do 145 or 144?' I said, 'Bro, you're calling me out at 147 and you want me to meet you at 144/145?' I go, 'You're mad!' I go, 'I belong at 147 and I'ma stay at 147, so I don't know why you're talking all this hype, hyping yourself up.' He was like, 'Oh yeah, let's do it, man. Let's do it for the fans.' I don't know what he was talking about."
