Moments ago at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, unified jr. welterweight champion Danny Garcia narrowly pulled out a majority decision victory over IBF jr. welterweight champion Lamont Peterson. Although the fight was close on the scorecards, you wouldn't be able to tell by the look of Garcia's face, which was battered and bruised. Peterson began the fight keeping his distance with his jab as Garcia stalked him, trying to find a home for his left hook. By the middle rounds, however, it was Peterson who was looking to engage more, backing Garcia up with hard body shots and closing the show by dominating the championship rounds. In the end, however, the judges didn't think that Peterson did enough to get the win, scoring the bout 114-114, 115-113, and 115-113 in favor of Garcia.
